We got our case complete today!!!! Woohoo after a checklist because they wanted a Sharia marriage certificate from a Christian wedding... (we're in the united Arab Emirates) ????

So they approved it all today!!! Next step is the interview!! I'm so happy to be here with you all!!!!!!!???????

Hello everyone.. just got my case completed today... I came to know U.S Consulate in Bahrain have immigrant visa interviews only on Thursdays that too after 1 PM local time and since there are no much immigrant visa applicants from Bahrain I am hoping it should be easier to get an early interview date but i guess it all depends on NVC when they send the file to the consular.

It can take 2 to 4 months all depends on embassy. It's not a fast process.

If your case is still with NVC ypu may have better luck.

Quick question, my nigeria police certificate was issued in March 2016, and it states that it is valid for 3 months. My interview is July in lagos nigeria, do I have to go get another police certificate to take to the interview?

No you do not need a new police certificate for interview. That 3 months validity is for submission purposes. If it was given to NVC within the 3 months you are good.

Please read the NVC site that states a PCC is good for a year.

I know of no one going through Lagos who was asked for new PCC. My husband got his in November. His interview was in April. You are fine.

When I traveled on my non-immigrant visa, I was pulled for secondary check.

You'll be arriving 2 days before my husband. Tell me how the Immigrate POE is. I went through May 22 and was in line like 30 minutes. We had to sit on plane cuz we landed too early and immigration doesn't open till 5am. Like goodness.

You'll know by calling when they are schedulibg (they aren't scheduling for your embassy yet for August) or keep checking your inbox for IL when schedulibg starts. Or wait for your status to change to READY. But I would hope by than you would know your date.

You have to be patient. Still another week to wait for scheduling. Hang in there.

Yes, if the account is in your name, that should suffice. I don't think you'd need 10 months' worth, just the most recent statement.

Asset would just mean the textbook definition:

property owned by a person or company, regarded as having value and available to meet debts, commitments, or legacies.

So if you had gold coins, or a car (that you didn't need) or real estate, etc.

Ugh, it's so upsetting. We are at the interview stage. We couldn't switch at the NVC stage because my husband's country forwards all cases to Morocco and we didn't have proof he can't enter except for the word on the streets that it's very difficult to get the visa to enter that country.

So he went ahead and applied for the visa after we got the interview date and we have currently been waiting three weeks the length they told us it would take and they keep telling us it's going take longer. I don't know if they will give it to him in time for the interview and the medical since his date is the 11th of July. It's devestating because we were just so close

The problem we are facing is whether to keep waiting and rescheduling the interview in hopes he will get the Moroccan visa or to switch embassies. Our lawyer says we have to wait until the 8th before we can request a transfer if he doesn't get a denial because we need proof he can't get to the interview.

If we transferred it the only choice they give us is Amman Jordan and my husband will need a visa as well to enter but it's a lot easier to get and the two to four months kills us.

I'm at a loss on what to do. Currently we are waiting to see by some miracle he gets the Moroccan Visa within the next week or so. We're heartbroken. Any thoughts?
