Congrats to all the recent approvals. For those asking about Houston POE. The reason it took three hours was because there was a gigantic line and only one officer working. Once she got to the front of the line, it only took about 15 minutes. They reviewed the packet and asked her name. Then they stamped her passport. It was really super easy, just a long wait. Now just waiting on a Social Security card so she can start working. :)

She can start working now. the stamped I-551 is a temporary green card and it allows her to start working. Depending on where she starts working, they may decide to hold her pay until she gets that SSN, or they will pay her but they won't be able to take taxes out. Which means when she does provide her SSN the next paycheck, they will retro the taxes that needed to be taken out. the easiest thing for an employer is to hold the pay.

if you haven't already, you should also go by the SSN field office and see if there is an SSN application being processed for her. Previous VJ members have stated that even though they checked that box on the DS-260 about wanting an SSN, they still had to go to the office and apply in person because there wasn't an application already routed for them.

I read somewhere on how to do an expedite request to the embassy for an earlier interview date but now I can´t find it. Can anyone help me out. Need to try getting it approved due to my husbands health issues.

I have one question.. I got checklist yesterday and they are asking for my legitimate radiancy status of canada until December. But i only have visa until October. If i change the address from canada to India, my birth country, how long the process will take?

Issued usually means that the visa has been printed I think. After my interview CEAC went to AP straight away and to ISSUED the next day. And the day after that i've had the visa in hand.

But I guess you will find out soon ☺

Remember that little tidbit abt the decision being made before we even showed up? I think it IS printed and the German efficiency has gone to India! :D

I think you ladies are correct. I referenced the first post that had the different statuses and what they mean. mine jumped from "ready" which was up to the day of the interview straight to "Issued" even an hour after the interview! This "Issued" has the same verbiage as it's listed on the last one on that document that dwheels as on her post.

Maybe it really is the german efficiency slowly spreading - after all you did call me your lucky charm once if I remember correctly ?
