QUICK QUESTION TO THOSE THAT WENT THRU LAGOS NIGERIA EMBASSY. Besides the lists of documents to take along for the interview, could u pls outline some of the things i can take along? My visa status is CR1 and interview is july 08

The National Visa Center (NVC) received all the requested documentation for this immigrant visa case. The applicant is now in the queue awaiting an interview appointment overseas, where a consular officer will adjudicate the applicants visa application.

NVC schedules appointments one month in advance. The U.S. Embassy or Consulate General tells us what dates they are holding interviews, and NVC fills these appointments in a first-in, first-out manner. Most appointments are set within 60 days of NVC receipt of all requested documentation. However, we cannot predict when an interview appointment will be available.

When we are able to schedule an appointment, we will notify the applicant, petitioner and attorney (if applicable). The applicant can prepare now by reading about the embassys interview requirements online at http://nvc.state.gov/interview. Thank you for your patience.

The embassy may require additional documents at the interview. In particular, if the following three items are all true, the applicant must bring a new police certificate to the visa interview:

He or she is more than 16 years old;

The police certificate submitted to NVC was obtained more than one year ago; and

He or she still lives in the country that issued the certificate.

The applicant should not make any travel arrangements, sell property, or give up employment until the embassy has issued a visa.

Saw this email. Does this mean we need additional evidence in the interview? And my police certificate is 3months old till date from India and I never lived in anyother country for more than 6 months

If there's any additional info needed they will let you know in the interview letter (P4).

Issued usually means that the visa has been printed I think. After my interview CEAC went to AP straight away and to ISSUED the next day. And the day after that i've had the visa in hand.

But I guess you will find out soon ☺

Mumbai is normally really fast. The CO told him they have 45 business days to issue the visa but she thinks it'll be about 10. Last several Mumbai approvals have gotten their visas in 2 days. Here's hoping it's the same for my hubby!

Thank you everyone for your support! I'll be posting a full review here shortly.

My husband said the interview was 15-20 minutes max. She didn't ask for any proof of relationship, except she did want to see a picture of us. He handed over all the pictures I sent him and she said they were very nice and colorful.

Hi guys and gals,

Just wanna let you know that my visa was approved today!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I kept checking all day yesterday and up to this morning and CEAC still showed AP.....at 1:10pm my husband IM'd me and then called me thru BBM....I missed both message and call as I was away from my office. I saw his missed call and then returned it thinking it was an emergency bcuz he doesn't have reason to call me....then he shouted THEY ISSUED THE VISAS BABE!

I literally stood in shock and started crying....words fumbling as I tried to calm myself and talk to my parents on the phone telling them the good news. My mom started crying too!

Thank you to all who gave encouraging words of comfort and support and thanks to God for granting me the patience thru this visa journey. I have learned a lot so that I am certain I can now guide others on their path thru visa success

Now to get prepared for the journey to Florida

My wife made it through POE in Houston. Other than only having one officer for a line of 200 people, the only question they asked her is her name. Received a CR1 stamp. Cooked us a good rib eye for dinner and now trying to get my cat to play nicely with her two cats. Thanks again everyone. See you in two years -90 days for Removal of Conditions!

Hey guys and gals as you all know my visa was approved on June 15th and it is issued today I'm just waiting on the tracking number. I just thought I'll update you all on the time frame. I'll let you all know when I would receive it.
