Hey my friends,

Can you help me alleviate my anxiety a little? My interview is in 3 days!! We are applying for a CR-1 Visa via DCF in Athens.
The Consulate has denied EVERY. SINGLE. business visa application made this year. Yes I know I am not applying for a Business visa.
But after the doctor's comment that the consulate officer is very strict and a little weird, I am a little more worried. My (USC) father in law and my husband are very calm saying it is an open and shut case (no red flags, nothing iffy, very strong joint sponsor, we have our own house over there) but as they say, it is not over until the fat lady sings, right?
I guess judging from my posts, I am the worrier of the family!! And I'm sorry if in the last few days I keep posting, I don't have anyone here to talk to other than hubby!!!

To be honest, I can't say if they were over the poverty line for all 3yrs. I was just told that the spouse was over for the year the CO was looking at and then was placed in AP for joint sponsor.

Affidavit of Support can be very iffy. One gets approved at one embassy or with a CO and another put in AP told to get a joint sponsor.

Multiple jobs just to meet the guidelines usually don;t fly. Many CO's don;t like the SSI qualifying but some get through some don;t it just depends. Some just care about current and previous no matter. But I know that has alot t do with current job like you been a student now you landed the big job.

I guess since NVC is not working over the weekend ppl will get emails / news starting tomorrow.

QUICK QUESTION! How do i know my case has been sent to my consulate? Will i get a call or an email from my consulate telling me about my interview appointment? Or do i have to call?

You can check the status here: https://ceac.state.gov/ceacstattracker/status.aspx

For now it should say "At NVC". Once it has been sent off to your embassy it says "In Transit" and when your file has arrived at your embassy you will see "Ready". Some ppl did not see the transit status in between so if that´s the case, don´t be alarmed.

The interview letter (P4) comes from the NVC via email. You can also call them (NVC, not your embassy) to ask if an interview date has been assigned. Don´t know when your CC was so:

Not sure if the embassy in your country might send you additional instructions once your file has arrived there but maybe someone else can answer that.

Yes you should get a packet with medical instructions, fee instructions and how to schedule the interview with your local Embassy (email)

You´ve filed via DCF; that´s a different process :-)

In my case for example i did not get anything from the embassy before my interview. And the date was assigned by NVC.

I got a p4 and another mail with the doctors info. I hope to give her a call tomorrow to know when my medical exam will be. Edited June 12, 2016 by OKUN
