Case Complete to Interview July 2016

I was in a similar situation with my first husband. We had our interview 6 weeks after our 2nd anniversary and I was heavily pregnant with our second child (for which the CO wanted a doctor's note before they'd give my husband his card - crazy). Anyway, while he was approving it, I noticed he was writing CR1 on the forms. I pointed out it him that it should be IR1 since we had been married more than 2 years. He had to go back and check the dates to verify, and then changed it.

So, just be sure to bring it up after they say you're approved. Based on my experience, I wouldn't rely on the CO to update it for you.

They automatically change it for you, mine started as a CR1 and i ended up receiving IR1 and CBP in the stamp they wrote IR-1 aswell.

So you don't have to do anything, doesnt hurt if you ask tho at the embassy.

I distinctly recall a previously approved VJer mentioning that they got a slip of paper with instructions from the CO for paying the GC fee after their interview was over.

Thank goodness for VisaJourney, because we DIDN'T get any ELIS instructions from the Consulate. Nor did my spouse get the VAWA pamphlet. It must depend on your embassy/consulate and/or the CO involved!

Should not be a problem. We never sent anything like that during the entire process. All we did was sending the marriage certificate.

I did bring those things to the interview just in case (CO did not ask for it).

There have been many others that interviewed at the Mumbai Consulate that also did not send anything except their Marriage License throughout the process and took the proof of relationship to the interview. CO didn't ask to see any of it and they were approved. Take what you can just in case.

I also only sent in our marriage license and sent lots of proof to my husband to take with him to the interview. We are praying everything goes smoothly.

The email that we received from embassy says " YOU MUST WRITE THE CASE NUMBER ON TOP OR BOTTOM OF ANY DOCUMENT, COPIES OF

DOCUMENT/S OR PHOTO ALBUMS WHICH YOU SUBMIT TO THE CONSULAR SECTION. WRITE

THE NAME AND THE CASE NUMBER OF THE APPLICANTS ON THE BACK OF THE VISA

PHOTOGRAPHS." Does it mean we have to write case number on all the original documents? or only on the photocopies?

I will carry everything all this give me hope. Only worried about the tax papers. Now I think will carry the whole bunch i saw with W2,1040A and all including Federal and State. Because when I asked my father in law he said everything relating to all the tax return including all 10:40 pages are there. He told me the CO need absolutely nothing because this is what the IRS accept it as their tax return.

I would not write them on the original documents. I would imagine you can use a sticky note or a paper-clipped note.

Passport/Visa arrived via mail today. 2 days after interview ☺

Your file from USCIS is transferred to NVC. I only sent pics to USCIS and not NVC. But at the interview the CO had those pics already which means USCIS transferred everything to NVC which then sent it to the Embassy. Don't worry. You're good.

OMG this gives me hope. I was always wondering what happens to the things which we send to uscis. Sent more than 80 pics there. Hopefully they send each and everything. Thanks alot for your reply. ?

Wow lucky you. Hopefully we all pass like this smoothly. I heard people say before too that decisiona were made earlier. Hopefully in a positive way. Bdw congratulations ? I have nighmares that CO asking me and im looking at him with a blank face LOL....
