I have a question to verify though we haven't told anything yet. I sent the W2s and 1040 and 1040A of my father in law who is the joint sponsor. In interview is that enough or have to take IRS though idk what that is neither does he. I will tk everything but he doesn't have IRS. And he and his wife file taxes together

Any and all forms that were sent to the IRS for the tax return (by the sponsor) should be provided. That includes W2, 1040, 1040A and any other forms (1099, etc.)

That's why they usually prefer the transcript - it's all there in one place. If he's already filed, the transcripts should now be available online to print out here https://www.irs.gov/individuals/get-transcript . He'll have to create an account, but that's the quickest, easiest and most foolproof way of getting that information.

Congrats! For those who elected to pick up their passports, were you emailed once it was ready for pick up? Did you get a tracking number? I think my husband's should be ready for pick up next week, but just wondering what the timeline is for those who opted for the same. It changed to issued for him the day after his approval as well

My CC was May 25th. I was looking over scheduling for CC this time last year and it looks like they kept scheduling interviews until june 15th. Don't lose faith

But were they over the poverty line for previous as well as current?

It's not just what ypu are making current. That's why we have to show 3 years worth to show that frankly we are employable and hopefully increasing our wages.

Also has alot to do with how they meet or exceed the guidelines. SSI, returements, kids child support, unemployment, more than one job can be iffy to get approved.

To be honest, I can't say if they were over the poverty line for all 3yrs. I was just told that the spouse was over for the year the CO was looking at and then was placed in AP for joint sponsor.

Congrats! For those who elected to pick up their passports, were you emailed once it was ready for pick up? Did you get a tracking number? Yeah, i was really surprised since they told me i would recieve it within 6 to 10 days.

PS: Since some ppl said that they didn´t get any instructions on how to pay the USCIS Immigrant Fee via ELIS - there were detailed instructions included in the package. Not sure if every embassy does it but i thought i´d throw that in here.

I distinctly recall a previously approved VJer mentioning that they got a slip of paper with instructions from the CO for paying the GC fee after their interview was over.

Hi Noorie,

You don't have to do anything at your interview. Once you get approved at your interview and you fly to the USA, the immigration officer who processes your packet at your POE will stamp the passport with the 10yr LPR stamp once your marriage has been over 2yrs.
