Case Complete to Interview July 2016

I gave in yesterday and booked a flight to go and see my husband next week and then today I got my interview date!! 26th July at the embassy in London.

Misinformation. There are no Visa fees that need to be paid unless someone was going through DCF. {...}

The only fee you have left is the green card production fee (they call Visa fee which is wrong). You pay after you get your Visa. You can pay before you come or after you arrive. Please see the 1st post all about it (last part of 1st post).

I would like to maybe, correct that since we are doing DCF. They asked for everything in advance from us when we did the I-130. We paid $420 each.

In DCF there is no processing fee of the rest of the forms.

Now that they scheduled the interview, they are asking we pay (after approval of course), $165 each for the production of the card directly at the Consulate

My husband's interview was scheduled at 8:45 AM. The whole process took about 2 to 2.5 hours. He said it was a pleasant experience with the majority of the time waiting in the waiting area for his turn. The total interview time was about 5-10 minutes.

He was asked:

-How did we meet and when?

-What was the connection that led us to meet or introduced us to each other?

-Why did we get married in Cyprus?

-Why have we not registered our marriage in Lebanon?

-Where do we plan to have our religious Church marriage, in Lebanon or USA?

He had lots of evidence with him from pictures to trip itineraries, boarding passes, a joint bank account statement, printed WhatsApp conversations from the day we met to present time, etc. The CO only asked to see pictures and he said she didn't even look at them, she just wanted to verify that he had them with him.

After all of the questions were answered, my husband asked the CO if it's approved and she said, "yes, of course!" She then wrote up the slip for him to come back and pick up his passport and he was on his way!

June 8th was a really bad day. My husband (USC) was taken to the ER because of a severe medical issue. The doctor wrote a letter stating that it would be crusial for me to come over as soon as possible due to his medical state. I talked to a US Senator that´s been helping us lately and she contacted the US embassy in Sweden and NVC regarding this trying to get an expedite interview. I don´t know my chances in getting it approved but I´m hoping for the best. My case got completed on May 23rd and since then I´ve been on waitlist for an interview. All the requierd documents for the interview is collected and I´ve done my medical. The US Senator will contact me as soon as she hear something but I´m worried that it will be denied even though the letter from the doctor says it´s of vital importance. Does anyone here has any idea on how hard it will be to have it approved?

My daughter is graduating from college Aug 13, 2016. Would I be able to travel to the US to attend the graduation on my b2 visa if I haven't been scheduled or even if I have been scheduled but haven't had the interview as yet

Yes you can. Just have your documents with you when you arrive to show in case you are questioned.

Hi all,

I have a question to ask. Our scan date was May 9th and we are anticipating a case complete any day now from NVC. We are petitioning for my 5 year old stepdaughter. The embassy in Nairobi is notorious for being slow at scheduling the interview (my husband had his interview there several years ago). My stepdaughter is due to start kindergarten here in the US on August 26th but needs to be here by August 12th to get registered and do the entrance testing. How do we request that an interview be scheduled for sometime in July or early August for her? Do we email the embassy direct or do we still go through NVC to request? I understand that this request may be denied but I am trying to do my very best to make her transition to the U.S. and our schooling as simple for her as possible. Nairobi typically gets several months behind on interview scheduling so at this rate we most likely would have a September interview for her if we do not request them to consider providing an earlier interview date. Any help anyone could provide would be fantastic. Thank you!

Your case is with NVC so you need to call the and request an expedite. They will tell you what and how to send them the documented proof. Than they send t embassy and he embassy decides. You usually find out within a weeks time.

Nairobi is very busy they aren't slow because they have all the surrounding countries to deal with. All you can do is try.

Since you don;t even have case compete you might get denied. But doesn't hurt to try. Considering it's just a 5 year old and not deployment, death or dying or humanitarian, financial hardship) just to list the main reasons. But you won't know if you don't try

I managed to get the NVC to agree to expedite my case, the files has been sent to the embassy in Abu Dhabi, and the embassy sent me an email to schedule an interview, which did.

However, how do I know if we need to biometrics first? I've seen posts about this, but I don't see anything in my instructions about this.

Also, I thought when the interview was scheduled a list of documents required was sent out? Since my cases went directly to the embassy, I didn't get an interview letter from the NVC.

Bio-metrics are done at the embassy. Only two places do them offsite before interview.

You are dealing with the embassy so whatever they send they send, There's no checklist coming that's NVC. You should know what needs to be brought . Originals, updated tax information, (a new AOS package if 2015 was not submitted). Other than that you are good.

Email the embassy and ask how re you to get in embassy. Most places just have you on the list and you show your ID/Passport.

Yes, I am aware that Nairobi is very busy and that she is just a 5 year old but as you said it doesn't hurt to try so I will do that. Hard to say because its a case by case embassy decision. Some embassies are more accommodating than others

I want to thank vj family, I received my visa today... it's been a long and stressful process, but am.glad it had finally come to an end....I.specially want to.thank dwheels for you knowledge of.this.process and how.you help out with issues....To God be the glory
