2011 - Met hubby online and became friends
Early 2013 - Confessed our love for each other * Late 2013 - I got pregnant with our daughter
2014 - Our baby was born in Athens, Greece and completed our family. We now have two boys and a girl!! 2013 - 2015 - Looking for jobs in Greece, none were available (due to socioeconomic crisis) 2015 - Decided only way to feed our family was to immigrate and started the process December 2015 - Got married (Greece has a LOT of red tape for foreigners marrying Greeks)
January 2016 - Finished gathering all documents and getting them translated
* * DCF in Athens, Greece * *
28th January 2016 - Finally filed I-130s
29th June - ISSUED!!!!!!1st July - Visa packages and passports delivered to DHL.4th July - Visas in hand! CU in two weeks USA!!
19th July- POE Detroit. All went well!! (excluding our screaming, jet lagged toddler!!)

 

After Arrival in the US

September 2016 - Hubby is diagnosed with congestive heart failure
October - February 2016 - Battle with drug use, overdosing, bringing home a tiny paycheck

March - July 2017 - I am working 80 hr weeks to make ends meet. Discovered hubby's affair. Still overdoses and is hospitalized. Has quit working all together.
July - October 2017 - Marriage counseling. Revealed hubby has "several" mental conditions. Is started on several mental meds.

October 2017 - Got accepted for a college course. Got better job to help raise my kids.

October 2017 - March 2018 - Situation at home is toxic. He files for divorce.

July 2018 - Divorce is final. I have full custody of our daughter.

 

ROC (GC expires July 19th 2018)

July 16th - Package for ROC is delivered to the CA service center (divorce waiver).

August 30th - NOA1 received with 18 month extension (fee waiver approved).

March 28th 2019 - Biometrics

August 8th 2019 - Case Approved No RFE No Interview - 10 year GC in production

N400 (Online - Detroit, MI office)
June 6th 2023 - Applied for naturalization under 5 year rule.
June 7th 2023 - Application received/Biometric will be reused.
June 16th - Interview scheduled.
July 27th - Upcoming interview.



**Our DCF journey to an IV took 5 months and 1 day from turning in the I-130 to getting "Issued"**

Can you please fill in your timeline?

Did you call NVC to see if they have an update for you? I think they are starting to get backlogged again based on other members that are also waiting. waiting sucks....hope everything goes smooth for you.

They updated my case 3 time in the last 3days , my interview june 29th what that mean?

They may just be preparing for your interview.

Some news on my case: Arrived in the US on April 13th. Received my green card today June 8th. Got my social security card and driving license. Sorry I haven't been able to come as much as I would like too. But will try to help more.

[spoiler]Green card I-130:Wedding date January 16th,2015 I-130 sent: May 5th,2015 NOA1: May 7th, 2015 NOA2: October 23rd,2015 Sent to NVC Nov 3rd, 2015 Received at NVC on the November 9th,2015 NVC sent letter with Case number on December 2nd,2015 DS-261 on December 07th, 2015 Paid AOS fee on December 07th,2015 Paid IV fee on December 12th, 2015 Sent AOS and IV package on December 17th, 2015 Form Ds 260 submitted on December 21, 2015. (Delay due to Ds261 showing incomplete had to resubmit) Scan date: December 21st, 2015 Case complete: January 29th, 2016 Medical examination: March 4th, 2016 Interview: March 17th, 2016 at US Embassy in Paris - Approved ! March 18th, 2016 - CEAC shows visa ISSUED March 24th, 2016 - Visa received this morning Paid ELIS $165 fee + book flight on MArch 24th, 2016 POE Chicago on April 13th, 2016  Received green card on June 8th, 2016[/spoiler][/spoiler]

NOA 1 Received: 2/5/2018

Biometrics: 5/25/2018

18 month extension letter: 8/20/2018

Welcome to America! Did your SS card automatically get mailed to you or did you have to go to the SS Administration office and file? I ask because some people have said they never got it mailed even though they checked the box on the Visa Application about wanting one. they had to go and file in person.

Thank you LinJoe. I had to go to the SS administration office because I did not receive mine. I did it after a month being here. I wanted to get things moving. So I received my card in a week.

My wife had an interview yesterday and they only asked a few questions... Had to b there for about 3 hours...but the visa finally got approved omg .. Thanks to everyone here ... As we all share stories ... At the end it all pays back ... For those all who r waiting .... HANG IN THERE ... Patience pays ...

Can anyone please shed light on if I can still expedite after CC? My husband (USC) is away for training this summer and will be home 4-6 weeks before he leaves and deploys again until middle of 2017 and I really want to be able to spend that little time with him if I can... I'm a ball of nerves. I'd be moving to an empty home unless we can get our visa in time... I'm so sad. If I had known all this, I probably would have delayed the process and just continued to visit him on a tourist visa. Not to mention all the anxiety of worrying about him being deployed again...

Sure you can request an expedite. I thought you already had long ago since the reason is the #1 reason next to death and dying.

Call NVC now ypu may not have to even submit anything.
