Hello all! Will I be able to buy my husband a one way ticket? I didn't think it would be a problem but someone told me he would encounter a problem once he arrives if he flew in on a one way ticket.

It's mt an issue. Only Visitor are required to have to buy a rounds trip ticket. If its cheaper sure buy it and be sure to cancel. Not usually the case I bought my husband on a website and he is flying Emirates. The CBP hardly is going to care that a immigrant doesn't have a round trip ticket why would they. :goofy:

Thanks a lot Chritinebee, I walked into BOA today and I was able to open a checking account as well as a credit card without SSN. Thanks a lot. I can start building my credit at last.

Thanks a lot Amadia, I was successful in opening a checking account as well as a credit card account today with BOA.

Many thanks

Yay! Glad the advice helped!

This is good to know. I am at BOA so we will be going there first week.

While on the topic, this bank isn't as popular, but Navy Federal Credit Union lets you open an account without a social too, but you'd need a referral from a current member or military personnel to be a member, I think!

Had my interview today.

Only got 4 questions!

1.how did I meet my husband?

2.do we plan to stay in Texas in a long term?

3.how many siblings does my husband have?

4.how old are my husband's children?

Then I'm approved!!!

Congrats!!

My CC date : May 26, 2016...I have called NVC everyday since the 26th hoping to hear interview scheduled. Unfortunately not many cases from The Bahamas,Mao unable to determine a date for interview email. I have decided to patiently wait for the email, tired of calling. Can finally see light at the end of the tunnel. Was hoping for a July interview, but now I'm thinking August.

Was hoping to start the community college in September, might have to put off until January.?

Good luck to all those waiting for interview dates.
