Hi,

Yesterday I paid the green card fee of 165$ on the ELIS website, I keep login to my account and it still show no data available ? I put the same email address as requested and got the confirmation in the end that the fee has been paid ?

Should I contact them or is this normal ?

Thanks

In all my data I have researched the no data shows after you have paid because there's no data to show. Did you get your confirmation email of payment and is the payment out your account?

Ok so had my interview yesterday in London, and just want to write about the experience.

My interview was at 1:30 but got to embassy at 12 and they let me through. I got a number and sat down in the waiting area. Then my number was called and went to a window they asked for my ds260, police report and birth certificate. And that is it. The lady said when do you planning on flying and I said next week. I then went back to sit down in the waiter no area.

Waited about an hour and then my number got called again. I went to the window and she asked who is the beneficiary ? How did we meet? What all the countries I have lived in? And then she said ok all is done approved. So all in all in was probably the easiest part of this whole process. Now just waiting for my passport back.

Cool beans. Congratulations.

You are Conditionally Approved. Just complete the information they gave and then you will have to wait. This is Administrative Processing you are in. They need additional information. No one can tell you how long so just get them the information soon as you can.

Hi Javi,

Thank you for the info, I hope things won't get too complicate for us to get our physical green card.

Anytime but Let's just hope for the best. as long as we get the social security in time plus the I-551 and stamp on our passport is all good for now.

Would love some advice on this: dwheels, Sukie, Linjoe?

My husband has his interview in Casablanca, Morocco on the 11th of July because the American embassy has been closed down in his country for years now so all immigration is transferred to Morocco. Just the past year or so Morocco now requires a visa to enter and apparently have been denying applicants ever since. People left and right have been telling my husband it's impossible to get approved for a visa to Morocco and that it would be a miracle if he did.

Since we can't switch embassies (it would be in Amman, Jordan since its next on this list of approved embassies for my husbands country) without showing proof he can't get to Morocco our lawyer has advised us to go ahead and try to get the Moroccan visa.

My husband has applied and we have provided them with proof of the interview and medical with the appointment letter and have written down on the application that he will be going there strictly for the interview. The guy that gave him the application and told him the requirements knew right away he was applying for a visa to Morocco to make his interview appointment and he told him that it may take 3 weeks.

It's been a week now and we are just so anxious. One of the guys that works at the embassy even told him that even though they say 3 weeks it could take way longer and sometimes they don't even say whether you're approved or not they just keep saying they need more time.

We don't know what to do. I'd like to think because they are used to having people come through for the visa to enter Morocco for the interview it should be approved no problem but I don't know if that's the case after what all these people are saying.

Is there anything you suggest to try and make them approve it? Should he keep showing his face over there and asking about the status of his application or is it better to just wait? What if I give them a call and explain as well?

Any advice will be greatly appreciated! Thank you!

I suggest you opening up a thread and ask the Middle Eastern forum what they did.

I don't think showing your face gets ypu anything. If it did everyone would be doing it.

Haven't heard of any issues getting Visa for interview. But I would ask Moroccan me members and Jordan even Egypt.

Posting in the Middle Eastern forum will be viewed by all in the MENA'S.

Hi all,

CO said everything is ok and approve. He put a stamp on one of the papers and took my hubby's passport .

He gave back some of the document we submitted to NVC and said 7or 10 business days to get passport back.

Is it really APPROVED? Can they change their mind?

Congratulations. Just celebrate the approval and not dwell on what if's.

In a nutshell of course they can change their mind happens all the time.

Hpapy belated birthday. Not sure if this only applies to the Bank of America branches that are near the borders, but... worth letting you know, just in case it pans out. I was able to open a BofA account in a branch near the Canada-US border as a Canadian resident (they didn't need my SSN). Maybe this applies to branches elsewhere in the US too. Wouldn't hurt to ask them!

Thanks a lot Chritinebee, I walked into BOA today and I was able to open a checking account as well as a credit card without SSN. Thanks a lot. I can start building my credit at last.

If I remember correctly the stamp in your passport can be used to open bank accounts and getting driver's license etc. I am not even a resident in the US but I was able to open a savings account with Wells Fargo when I visited for the Christmas period in 2015 AND got approved for a credit card too in March of this year ;)

Thanks a lot Amadia, I was successful in opening a checking account as well as a credit card account today with BOA.

Many thanks

Ugh!! Very sorry to hear it Amadia and I hope you can get it resolved soon.

Thanks gryphon....my husband actually asked his uncle and he agreed to be our sponsor so we're getting paperwork underway as we speak! :dancing:

Hope you get through soon Amadia :goofy:

Thank you very much :) Good luck in your process as well!

Hello all! Will I be able to buy my husband a one way ticket? I didn't think it would be a problem but someone told me he would encounter a problem once he arrives if he flew in on a one way ticket.

I have never had an issue buying tickets on a 1-way basis (I tend to get them cheaper that way too! :D ) I guess it all depends on the airline but I buy directly from the airline's website and you can try contacting the customer service section if you encounter any issues.

Further more, once he arrives at his POE, he is processed and his passport is stamped with the temporary 1-year green card stamp/foil. The immigrant visa is for his intent to live and work in the USA....having a 1-way ticket to the US is not gonna raise any issues since your hubby will have his visa packet given to him by the embassy ;)

my case was completed on may 19th 2016 when can i expect an interview date and can i use ceac site to check when my file has left the nvc and will head to the embassy.

yes i read the spread sheet but i would still like a personal answer.

Hi dondreall,

I must say that no one on here has the ability to give you any "personal" answer on your interview date. We have all made "guesstimates" based on DWheels76 spreadsheet by using the tools provided to us on the timelines of previous members from our respective embassies....95% of the guesses were near-accurate...maybe off by a day or 2. This is the purpose that the spreadsheet was carefully made for our benefit...you can use it to determine a range of days in which you may get your interview.

Hi dondreall...tell you what...

You send DWheels76 a magic crystal ball, and she'll read it and be able to tell you when your interview will be.

I'm sorry - none of us has enough power to tell you when your interview will be scheduled. You'll just have to watch the spreadsheet and estimate when yours will be based on the people ahead of you.

All of us here have gone through the same horrible waiting game.
