no its better to take the medical exam before 15days from the interview date and also make the appointement 10days or more before the medical exam !

Oh no really! That may be a problem for us because when he called them they said he has to physically be in Morocco to schedule the appointment but he is waiting for the Moroccan embassy to let him know if they are going to approve the visitors visa to enter Morocco and we don't know how long that will take..

What did they ask for when you scheduled the appointment? Just the case number?

You can order your transcripts online, but they are sent by regular mail. No option to get them online anymore. It will take about a week.

You need the "return" transcript.

Sukie in NY

Actually, I just tried it out - you CAN get them online now!

If you go here: https://www.irs.gov/individuals/get-transcript

You have to sign up for an account and answer several questions, and you need a mobile phone to receive texts. But I was able to register and view my latest return transcript. It even asks why you need it, I selected immigration and it said "You probably need the return transcripts" ;)

P.S. I couldn't actually get it to load in Chrome (the return itself), so I used Firefox. It may be because I run Privacy Badger and a few other things on my Chrome, though.

Awesome, I might have to set up an account just in case! Thanks for letting us know :)

Maybe I'm just being anxious... case complete May 26 and waiting for interview date to be scheduled. I check the spreadsheet every day. Just curious, at this stage, are there still any opportunities to expedite? My husband is in the army and he'll be leaving for training in late July-August and then he has a few weeks of leave in September and he deploys. I'm already kind of sad about moving there and being on my own, but I'm really just trying to spend as much time with him as I can since he'll be gone until mid 2017. I was going to just wait it out because I figured I'm SO close to the end, but I'm having difficulty being a sitting duck right now. It's hard to think that after this whole process, I'll be moving there (hopefully by September) and getting to spend a couple weeks with him and then have to wait until next year to see him again.

Congrats!! So happy for you:). Hubby's interview is on Wednesday in London, plz pray for us too!! Quick q guys, does the online submission of the way you want your documents to be returned have to be completed way in advance? My hubby's just about to do it but I just wanted to clarify since his is in two days.

Hi,

Not sure how your hubby's embassy handles passport returns but I believe this should be done at least BEFORE the interview :)

Been a minute, Thanks all for the birthday wishes last week. Well I have ended up at the Social Security Admin office to apply for my SSN, Luckily they said they have not received any application from USCIS and advised that the new application will trump that whenever they receive it.

I have been unable to open a bank account nor acquire a drivers license nor even state ID because I do not have a SSN. I am at least happy I now have my name on our rent lease.

Happy new week to everyone, wishing a lot of good news to folks with upcoming interviews.

If I remember correctly the stamp in your passport can be used to open bank accounts and getting driver's license etc. I am not even a resident in the US but I was able to open a savings account with Wells Fargo when I visited for the Christmas period in 2015 AND got approved for a credit card too in March of this year ;)

Thanks Sukie! Interesting why they still had the option online? I went ahead and requested the 2013, 2014, and 2015 tax return transcripts that will be sent by mail.

Usually the consulate only asks for the 2015 transcript correct?

The whole point of the transcript for 2015 is that many people going through the interview process now had their AOS approved prior to April 15th, when 2015 taxes were due. The Consulate/Embassy wants to make sure that the 2015 figures show that your sponsor makes enough money.

I think it's a grand idea to have 2013, 2014 and 2015 in your hands for the interview!

Are you an expedite If not your case isn't sent to embassy. It will remain until your embassy starts scheduling for July or when August scheduling starts.

When last you called NVC?

I would be calling NVC to see if you got a July date since there are others after your CC that got July dates. Some even June.

I have added you to the spreadsheet.

I see, that makes sense! What's interesting is that my 2015 tax return does not show sufficient income because I was traveling and did not work for much of the year. Currently I'm very well above the income needed to sponsor my husband alone and NVC approved it.

The thing is I read that someone on here was in the same boat and they they asked for a joint sponsor at interview even though his income was sufficient enough because of his 2015 taxes, which makes me worried. I've asked my lawyer if she thinks I should try and get a joint sponsor just in case but she said I don't really have to.

I'm just so anxious and nervous I don't know what to do. I really don't want a joint sponsor but if it means saving us the hassle of waiting extra time ect I might have to buckle down and find one, which will be tough..

Thoughts?

I got a call this morning from a lady at my embassy who was VERY rushed with the info she provided to me about my and my kids' petitions! I had to ask her to slow down a bit so that I can understand her a bit more clear and that I also had a couple questions....she didn't seem to be too pleased to speak to me or answer my questions. I began to think that this was a norm for the consulate to contact persons on their cases and be half-a**ed with the info they are giving without the beneficiaries even fully understanding WHAT is truly required by the embassy :ranting:

Anyways, she explained that my cosponsor (father-inlaw) did not meet the poverty line requirements for a household of 5 and I would need a new joint sponsor....then said "OK, bye!"

I was like "Hello?? Are you there?" Then she hesitantly said "yes I am still here..." So then I was able to ask what the stated income was and she was right since the assets provided on the Roth IRA wouldn't be liquidated within 1 year to satisfy the poverty requirements. I was still unsure about the phone call so I immediately emailed the embassy and was given a satisfactory response with the additional info that they needed from me.

Since around 10am today I have been stressed over this on work and not able to focus on much of anything since we have 2 persons to consider asking...but then we may or may not be able to consider them for sponsors since they have personal matters ongoing. I am keeping positive tho....delays are a blessing in disguise altho we seem to think that man appoints but God disappoints.

I kept checking my status on CEAC as well but they only updated it after 3pm with today's date. Praying for this delay to be over and our petitions approved! :)

Hpapy belated birthday. Not sure if this only applies to the Bank of America branches that are near the borders, but... worth letting you know, just in case it pans out. I was able to open a BofA account in a branch near the Canada-US border as a Canadian resident (they didn't need my SSN). Maybe this applies to branches elsewhere in the US too. Wouldn't hurt to ask them!
