No you are looking wrong. On the Visa there is your DOS/Case#. Below that is the registration number that is 8 #'s long. Your passport# is on the left of the Visa. So very different.

visaSample5.jpg

That should have been in question form. In other words, it is not labeled, as the registration number or passport numbers are. I've located it though.

Did it show his visa was issued. Then he went to DHL and checked?

Congrats and so happy he finally got his passport back.

The visa was issued the day after his interview and he checked the week after. We expected to get a phone call or email but it never came.

So our sponsor had to ammend her taxes due to accountant error. Based upon what I have been reading on VJ, for interviews they are requesting 2015 tax transcript, but due to the ammendement according to IRS website they can take anywhere from 6-8 wks to process before issueing transcripts. We got CC on May 25th. Now what?? Anyone have any odeas? What if we get interview date before transcripts. I'm soooo stressed now

Dont let this stress you out. Just bring a copy of the amended tax return with you to interview. It took us about a month and a half for the interview in delhi india. I didnt have my 2015 transcript because i filed late. They didnt even ask to see 2015 return incase they do just tell them you only have return with you and didnt get the transcript. Be relaxed and confident at your interview its a piece of cake trust me. Good luck

I wrote an email to the NVC asking for expedite and they approved it. If I look on the CEAC site all the cases are "IN TRANSIT".

What can I expect from here? My cases were already complete, I am just waiting for the interview. Do I need to contact the embassy?

Proximity, your paperwork is on its way to your embassy. Your embassy will have to receive your paperwork before they can schedule your interview. As soon as they log it in, they'll start looking for a slot to fit you in.

Please wait until your CEAC status says "READY" before trying to contact the embassy. Until your paperwork is logged in, they won't be able to do anything for you.

i'm having a brain freeze. When my husband gets to the US, i know he'll get a I-551 stamp in his passport. While he's waiting for the actual card, there shouldn't be any issues in traveling within the US with that passport and stamp, right? We never had a real honeymoon and i'm trying to think of where we can go after he gets here. Is TSA going to give any issues of him traveling with his passport with the stamp?

Pretty sure all you need to travel within the US is an ID. Passport will work. He's already in the US, he will be allowed to travel within it freely. The visa isn't issued to allow travel to one state only, it's issued to allow him access to the US, lol. I'm Canadian and I use my driver's license to travel within the states all the time. Should be fine :)

Remember - to be valid - you must have the visa page (the visa foil) in your passport AND the I-551 stamp. They usually put the stamp just next to the visa foil page in the passport. So with both the foil and the stamp, you are good to go!

Ya, I use my TX DL to travel all the time but we are hoping to get away a couple of days after he gets here so he won't have his DL yet. In TX, to even get just an ID, it takes a couple of weeks. So if we travel, He will have to use his passport.

Thanks for your help.
