Done with the N-400! Thanks everyone for helping me out! Still having problem with writing my name on the back of the photos ... too glossy lol plus I don't want to push the pencil so hard ... Well, do you think it's ok if I use our label maker to type my name & A# then stick them on the back of the photo??? To me it looks very clean but I really don't want to take any risk!:rolleyes::rolleyes:

What do you think about that?

Why don't you just use a permanent marker with a small tip and leave the pictures out for about 10 mins to dry. That's what I did and it turned out great. When you read the instruction it says - "Using pencil or felt pen, lightly print your name and Alien Registration Number (A-Number) on the back of each photo." I wouldn't use a label maker. Just follow the instruction...I think that's the best thing to do...You are right, don't take any risk to delay your process.

Use a felt-tip pen as per the instructions. Jarta is right.

You can get one at a stationary store or most drugstores.

Using a ball-point pen would probably work too; just don't press too hard.

If you use a felt-tip pen, let it dry so that it doesn't smear.

yeah, its normal. they sent my Biometrics appt. letter on june 10th and told me to wait until July 10th to receive the letter and if not received by July 10th then file e-request for copy of notice. BUT i got my Biometric appt. letter in mail on June 17th (THANKS GOD) for appt. on June 27th. even after getting the notice in mail my online status didn't change or its not showing my biometrics date online. its not showing anything. i think my online account is not working properly anymore. And i didn't get any text msg or e-mail regarding biometrics appt. so im glad that i got letter by mail otherwise i would have missed my biometrics appt.

Good luck everyone :)

added my wife's info also...

created an account with the new system - looked around, saw the biometrics letter had been sent on 6/18, but not received yet, but shows it to be approx 3 weeks from NOA.

Going to try to do it early as it will interfere with Eid which may be on 7/5 also... as we have been asked to appear at 10am.

I know for my biometrics a few years back i was able to do it early, but i was going to be travelling overseas.... dont remember giving them any proof but they were really very nice about it... got there early that time and was told come back in half hour or so.

forgot to mention - after that first time of being able to get in and register for the online account, provide updated info for contact details, i saw that when i used the "new" site link that shows at the top - where they are trying a different format - i saw that our mobile number had the wrong area code - in stead of showing (832) it shows (932).... but when i use the current site and look at profile.... it shows correctly... clearly some bug in their system.

Also, since registering- we got an email about an update... but when i try to log into that same webpage https://myaccount.uscis.dhs.gov and then logging in, it just seems to go back to the main home page...

so thats also a bug... i know some people on VJ have had this issue and it appears that just keep trying - i see no where to sign out - just sign in or sign up... but even that just takes you back to the home page...

what fun...

sorry for the multiple posts :)

but i just found out how to get to the account...

so you begin with logging into https://myaccount.uscis.dhs.gov

enter your user name, password, and then of course one-time password after you receive it (either by mobile or email) - basically this is two-factor login every time.

then IF it takes you to your profile and account page - you're good to go! :)

BUT if it takes you back to the page https://my.uscis.gov , then what you need to do is actually then add the following to the link /account/customer

which would make the web address https://my.uscis.gov/account/customer

hope this helps someone....

Hi All June Bugs

Here is how my appt went.

I took a chance and walked in.

Arrived at 2:00 and explained my problem with my booked appt. and why I couldn't make it.

He (receptionist) checked my letter.

Asked to my sit down just outside managers office.

Manager called me in within 5 minutes.

Asked why I was here and did I have an appt.

I explained my situation, showed him my flight itinerary, car rental, and hotel reservations.

We chit chatted about Seattle we laughed a bit, he signed and approved my appt. letter.

I then went to receptionist again and I was directed to the fellow who took my fingerprints which took seemed to take awhile but he didn't stop until the screen said 10 fingerprints collected successfully.

He took my photo, gave me a study package with book and audio CD,

Gave me a survey card to fill out before leaving.

Said congratulations....not sure why?

By 2:20 I was in my car calling my hubby at work to tell him the good news. No rescheduling, and appt. done 3 weeks early.

Oh happy day.

Went to St. Paul today for my biometrics appointment. It went really well, friendly staff. Since we live some distance away we got there 45 minutes early. They took my paperwork and sent me through. We were in and out within 20 minutes. Now to wait for the interview letter :)
