I have a question, I'm unemployed right now so does it matter to them (IO)? I'm married and my husband is non-permanent resident, he lives and works in UK. So does this gonna effect my application?

If so, it doesnt matter...

But i am guessing that you will then want to apply for your husband to become a permanent resident in the US and that requires sponsorship and then you will have to show you can support him....

Yes, I'm applying under the 5yrs rule. And once I get my U.S. citizenship then I will apply for my husband and meanwhile I'll get employed hopefully.

Good luck with the process...

No word here from the USCIS... Houston is def one of the slower field offices, but i do see some progress now with April and May filers now getting their interview notices... so that means we are likely another month or so away from getting word of our interviews...

On your situation - hope it works out for you quickly - i know how it was for us when we were apart...

Good news is that once you're a US Citizen the process is expedited compared to if your'e an LPR.

I just called uscis and I got an answering machine, after entering my receipt number they told when I had my biometrics appt ( July 7th) and that was it..
I was hoping to talk to a representative and ask if the uscis website info is accurate cause it says they are processing ( still)Feb cases but it says something like " info updated as July 30th "....
Does anybody know how can I get a # to contact my field office instead and not the 1 800 from USCIS?

When you call don't put in your # pretend you don't have it . You will get the option to speak to an agent then ask for a transfer to Tier 2 agent. Let them know you haven't been satisfied with lack of info given if they ask why. Just be cheerful and polite. You catch more flies with honey than vinegar,,ha ha ha

Finally good news. I got a text from USCIS today that on October 19, 2016 they have scheduled my interview appointment. Yay! Now time to start reading about the civics test.

IOE receipt number, field office Indianapolis. I'll update the interview date in the table once I see the letter in the online account.

I know most of us have been waiting for a long time. You guys should be hearing from them soon too.

My husband passed his citizenship test this morning. His letter said to be at Federal Plaza in NYC at 8:35 AM. At 9:20 AM he texted to say he hadn't been called in yet but at 9:45 AM, he called to say he had passed. He said that the interview lasted less than 10 minutes, and that he was asked to write down the sentence "Who lives in the White House?" and then was asked six questions, which he answered correctly:

1. Who vetoes bills?

2. What is the supreme law of the land?

3. What is the capital of New York?

4. Who did the US fight in World War II

and then two others that he couldn't remember. She asked him about his military background in Cuba and that was it. She didn't ask for any further documentation and told him that within 4 to 6 weeks, he should receive the letter with his oath ceremony date.

What a relief to be almost done! I feel very grateful to this community and for all its help with each step of the process- K1, AOS, removing conditions, citizenship, etc. -- we definitely could not have done it without this site!
