Hello,

I applied to adjust status in January , about a month and a half ago i got a notification that my case was ready for an interview but so far i haven´t received an appointment date, I´m concerned because my husband is in the Air force and he got orders to work overseas so we have to move overseas in two months. I don´t know what to do about my case besides one of two options , staying until I get my appointment or leaving and then my case will be canceled. I could apply for and advanced parole but i would have to give an exact date of return, but I don' t know yet when my appointment will be, is there another type of advanced parole for this cases }

Why not make an Infopass appointment at your local USCIS office, take a copy of the orders and see if they can get your case expedited?

And you could have applied for AP along with the EAD and AOS forms. You do not have to give a reason or date and length of trip.

How long are the two of you expecting to live overseas? If it's a long time (1+ years) it might not even be any point in continuing your Permanent Resident application if you won't be a resident.

You could have applied for Advance Parole with your AOS and EAD. EAD is valid for 1 year though it is not recommended to be away more than 6 months.

As far as I know, living on a military base is like being on American soil and does not count as time out of the country.

I applied for expedited service because of military deployment and i'm supposed to receive an answer in five days or a little longer. We will be living overseas over 4 years but we have wlready paid for the process and are so close that i don't really want to start all over later
