I had my visa interview today and was advised that its approved pending my submission of a household registration record from Taiwan. I asked them to clarify and they said that it needs to be a birth certificate from the government department and not the hospital. Very disappointed that we have to wait a bit longer but glad its somewhat approved.

So some questions:

* What exactly am I supposed to provide? Is it just the household registration record or am I supposed to get them to provide a birth certificate from the government department?

* Is the US Consulate expecting it to be an original record from the time of my birth or a newly created document?

I've got dual citizenship and already have an Australian passport. So am using my Australian passport to apply for the visa. I don't understand why they want the household registration when you only had to provide the birth certificate. Was you're birth certificate issued by a government hospital?

I don't know really, cuz i don't know all your story and information. I've lived in Australia for the past 15 years before moving here to the USA and getting married.

My birth certificate was issued from the hospital i was born in in Taipei, Taipei Women's Hospital thats what he was called 30+years ago but now it is under a different name and administration.

Happy to discuss this further through pm if you give me more information may be i can figure out why...
