Customs Form--Purpose of Visit

Hi everyone! I could not find an post of this topic. Sorry if this is a repeated question. Joan and I are going back to the Philippines for the first time in 3 years soon. I was looking at the customs form to see what/if anything we had to claim (cloths, some food for the family, etc.) Nothing that we are bringing fits the categories on the form, so apparently there is no issue....BUT (and here is the stupid question): Do we check Balikbayan as the purpose of the visit? We are only going for 15 days, so I do not need the extension for my visit.

Salamat as always!

Last summer when we were there we forgot to complete the form, got to the customs window and had to figure what pocket I put the form in, when I pulled it out it I stated to the agent that we hadn't completed it... he grinned and said - I guess you have nothing to declare, enjoy your stay. I had planned to check TOURIST, my wife most likely planned to check Returning Resident .. no clue, we never did complete the form.

We got the balikbayan stamp in my passport.

 I guess I would be the tourist, but would Joan be a returning resident since she lives in the US now?
