Finally! After 5 months, this morning the case status on USCIS's website updated to "On May 29, 2016, we scheduled an interview for your Form N400, APPLICATION FOR NATURALIZATION". We don't have the letters yet... so, we don't know the date but we assume it is going to be sometimes at the end of June.

My husband and I filled the N400 at the same time (same check, same envelope, etc). My paperwork was processed faster than his but both updates are for the same day (May 29th). Does it mean that we have high chances to go to the interview the same day?

And... I was trying to update the timeline for our case and I realized that there was no way to put in the info for our Immigration process (we've been permanent residents)...

Anyway, we've got a nice Memorial Day present!

The interviews are almost always scheduled for 5 weeks after the notification that you got (plus or mines a day or two). Usually 5 weeks to the day. There's a good chance that the interview will be on the same day, however there's no guarantee. there's a recent example from the thread for December 2015 applicants; a husband-and-wife applied on the same day and got their interview notification on the same day but their interviews are one day apart.

Thank you, Jimmy Hou! I hope we get to do it the same day since we have to travel about 85 miles to get to the USCIS office.... It wouldn't be fun to do it twice in a week. Obviously, we are going to do it anyway if it is going to be like that. I hope, the ceremony is going to be at the same time at least...

I wasn't expecting a definite answer... but mostly to find out if there is a chance or not :).

you might. Honestly that is not a question that somebody can give you a definite answer lol.

My wife and I applied on the same day in June 2015. I am the petitioner. I JUST completed by interview, 8 months after hers. So don't be surprised if one is held up. She got her oath 6 months before I did.

I am sorry to learn this. I am glad is all done for you and your wife. We did get our letters and we both have the appointment the same day, even the same time :).

Hopefully everything is going to be fine :)

Good luck to you both!

Thank you!

Updates! We had the interview on July 6th and passed! We had the interview appointments at the same time but, he actually got in first (his case number is one digit before mine and it has always been since he was the DV Lottery winner). The interview was pretty easy and now we are in line for the Oath Ceremony (yay!).

Now, the question is... how long does it take to have the ceremony in IL? We opted for a ceremony in Chicago since in our city the next opportunity would be in 3 months.

Thank you!
