Domestic U.S. Travel while on K-1 Visa

Hi everyone! I posted on this forum for help back in January. Since then, our I-129F has been approved and we've got a date for the embassy interview for the end of June. Yay! Thankfully things have been moving quicker than we had even anticipated. Thanks to everyone who posted on the original thread and gave helpful insight! Hopefully everything goes smoothly at both the medical exam and the embassy interview next month.

After our K-1 is approved and he is traveling on the K-1 visa, however, we are planning to attend a friend's wedding on 09-24-16. He will be arriving to the US on 09-16-16. I am located in Massachusetts and the wedding will be in Maryland. My fiance and I do not actually plan to be married until the following week after my friend's wedding, 10-01-16. Will it be possible for him to fly domestically to Maryland while in Massachusetts on the K-1 visa? Will he encounter any issues at the airport, or have to wait in some sort of different line than I do?

If this is an issue and we absolutely have to, we'll just take the bus down lol. But a flight would be much preferred since we'll likely be carrying luggage and there is a difference of five hours in travel time.

I wasn't sure where to ask this question, so if I've posted it in the wrong forum, feel free to move it to the appropriate place :)

There's no issue related to domestic travel after entering on the K1. He will not use/need his visa for this travel, but should bring his passport as ID.

If it isn't difficult, it isn't worth it.

Thanks for moving to the correct forum Ontarkie :)

Ah, that's a relief to know A'n'L! So that also means that we could fly elsewhere in the US if we wanted to I suppose! I was thinking of the possibility of going somewhere warmer than New England for a honeymoon type of deal after our fall wedding lol.

Does that mean that the issue would instead be traveling internationally? He is from the UK but say we wanted to go somewhere different, like Japan...

He needs to stay within the US until you are married, have filed for AOS and advance parole, and received the latter.

If it isn't difficult, it isn't worth it.

OK, good to know! There will be warm places within the US until the AOS process, and Japan will still be around afterwards lol. Thanks so much for your help :)
