Hello all,

I apologize in advance for the rather frantic nature of this post, but in short, I'm panicking. My fiance and I went to the interview in Montreal on May 18th, he was told he was approved on the spot and to expect his visa within 1-2 weeks. CEAC status was "Ready" from that date until Friday the 27th when it switched to Administrative Processing, which it claims can take weeks. We were hoping to move him down the week after next. Please tell me this is all normal and that we are good to go. Please?

Everyone goes through Administrative Processing. Some only goes through it for a few days, others months some poor people get stuck longer. Usually low fraud countries (such as Canada) is only in it for days or weeks. It just means they're preparing your package with your passport and the sealed envelope.

All K1 in Canada do AP. It can take a few days to a few weeks. Don't make any travel plans until the visa is in hand. You have 6 months from medical date in which to move.

Thank you both for the quick replies. This whole process is just nerve-wracking. I swear I've aged 5 years in the last 6 months. Why can't they just tell you exactly what they're doing in each step instead of using these vague far-too-often-used canned statuses that can mean something, nothing, or everything. Currently doing my very best to not just crumple into a ball.

AP during K1 = Administrative Processing

AP during AOS = Advance Parole or Travel Authorization
