NVC Expedite Request (CR-1) While I-130 Is In Transit

I could not find a current thread that addresses my question. If there is one I am sorry for the repeat.

I received an approval for my wife's I-130 from USCIS seven days after the request for expedite was submitted. I need to find a pathway to expedite processing at the NVC as well. The urgency is/was quite significant.

Does anyone have recent experience or can advise if I would have issue emailing the NVC now while my petitions are in transit? Eventually my USCIS case number will be married to a NVC case number, which is why I am trying to find a way to get the request in now. Time really is of the essence.

I saw threads dating to 2014 of someone that did this, but a lot can change in two years.

Thank you for the help.

Michael
