No, i am not basing my understanding on tv, i simply stated that there are foreigners on every tv show. For them to show up on tv, surely they are in the US. Are you from the US, with a name like yours i imagine you might be a foreigner yourself, or atleast of foreign ancestry. LoL

Americans come in all shades.

How are you determining who's a foreigner on TV?

Very easy to tell by an accent, also when it is people featured on tv, you can generally google their background and find evidence that they are/where foreign before ending up in the US. If you wanted me to say skin color: I am a white african, i am fully aware that every country has various shades of people.

I guess OP judged you by your VJ name.

Seems like you tend to take people's username as their real name. I hope you are not googling the actors by their character name on tv/series.

Which actors have you looked up? Who are all these foreigners on American TV?

But I thought we were talking about mexican "hard laborers" on tv, now we are talking about actors on tv?

And, every American is of foreign ancestry except Native Americans.

@Harpa,i came to this forum for advice, not an argument or interrogation. @Harpa @Arken @Aaron, I never said actors, I said people that feature on tv, meaning people on shows where you expect them to be sourced from the general public or population yet they are foreighn, like on shows with contenders like fear factor, or chopped, or other cooking shows and competitions, or shows where they remodel houses and the labourers are mostly mexican and don't even speak english. As for actors, i always assumed there are special conditions for them, but obviously all of us can name many, charlize theron(South African) jonah hill(Canadian) vinnie jones(UK) etc etc this list could go on forever. Interesting topic though, i am enjoying it, thanks for your responses.

Yes, Seth Rogan, my bad. Thanks @Canadian Wife.

Seth Rogen's Father is a US Citizen, so that's instant access, skip the immigration #######.

Charlize Theron was an illegal immigrant who spent a lot of time and money on very expensive lawyers to help her obtain US Citizenship.

Vinnie Jones is a british actor that has very expensive attorneys, and very powerful US companies that sponsored him for a Visa that allows him to live and work in the US as a British citizen.

Michael J. Fox was an illegal immigrant before spending a lot of time and money to become a US citizen, the same for Salma Hayek, Cesar Millan, and Arnold Schwarzenegger.

So unless you are a filthy rich celebrity that has a lot of disposable capital, drop your stuck-up attitude. Just because someone is a foreigner on American television does not mean anyone can do what they do. They got to where they are because of money and lawerys who cost money.

Everyone else has to take to slow road, which is sometimes unobtainable for some people. Stay determined, and don't use television as your baseline and you will probably do just fine.

@Chris and Zhijia please see bold above, other people brought up actors and celebs, meaning you are pissing the entire pot miss, as for you having a crack at me saying I have a "stuck-up attitude", you don't know me dude, so don't, I have been kind to everyone here and thanked them for their individual responses and help, you are the first one having a problem with my "attitude". Well done on googling celebs, I could have done that... But once again, celebs and actors was never my point.

Thanks however for this bit: "Everyone else has to take to slow road, which is sometimes unobtainable for some people. Stay determined, and don't use television as your baseline and you will probably do just fine."

Peace

Really? I recall you deciding that I wasn't American based on my username, insulting mexican americans, and telling others that they had no idea what they were talking about because you found some actors on tv (though you bring up film stars) that have immigrated to the US.

If you call that kind... wow.

I didn't realize all of those celebs were illegal immigrants interesting.

Drake is another celebrity that I never hear talk about his American citizenship (Super Bowl commercial aside, his father is American) but he's dual.
