Misunderstanding about Fiances children

Good afternoon,

The K1 Visa process has been fine so far and we our interview very soon, June 3. Recently though in the letter from the Bogota embassy, it was mentioned that the visa is for my fiance and his two children... but that was not the plan at all. The mother of his children want them to stay in Colombia. We included the childrens information in the application because I thought it was just in general if he had kids, not that it was about kids who would be joining him.}

The embassy responded with this email: Its in Spanish.

Has anyone ever had a similiar misunderstanding? I am not sure exactly what they are asking us to do? Will this affect our interview and the possibility of my fiance coming to the Us? Thanks for any help!

If you didnt apply for a k2 visa for them theres no reason for them to go to an interview.

Will (unknowingly) including them on the application complicate the chances of my fiance getting his K1 visa?

I applied for a K1 for my fiance.... there is a section that asks about children so I incldued them in the app because he does have 2.

You will be fine it says let the CO know the children are not included. Note when they are wanted for travel youll have to submit petitions for each the app fees are waived with the K2. But incase bring their birth record even if they dont travel. CO may ask for it :D

What application? Did you fill out DS-160 forms for the kids? Those are the visa applications.

If you are speaking of the I-129F petition, it is not an application for anything. The children are supposed to be listed on it, whether they will be applying later for a visa or not.

Just tell the consulate the children will not be applying for visas, and are staying in Colombia.
