We went through hell on getting the K-1 and now the removal of conditions on residency is becoming hard: We sent the check and I-751 in just as her temporary "green card" (wish it was a different color or said "TEMPORARY WITH CONDITIONS" on it but of course it doesn't so I was caught by surprise on this) was about to expire. I have the certified mail receipt that they received it on 8 April. They were super efficient in cashing the $590 check in six days. We have never received the notice of action/receipt number which would allow us to monitor progress online. 4 calls to them have gotten us to level two "immigration officer" level without them simply looking up the number. It is now 47 days with nothing. Also one of three letters of reference arrived to us from a neighbor late, so it was sent separately and of course it was returned to us as an "inquiry" and told to call the 800 number. Talk about lazy....it was not an inquiry - it was a very specific request to file this letter with item 16 attached to the I-751 and also gave them update of temporary address. They did nothing but return to us. What a great agency. THEY ALLOW THOUSANDS OF SYRIANS IN, ALLOW INNUMERABLE HISPANICS IN THROUGH THE SOUTHERN BORDER, BUT FOR AN AMERICAN CITIZEN AND HIS WIFE DOING IT LEGALLY, THEY RAKE YOU OVER THE COALS. I am a federal retiree and my agency was never this incompetent.
