there are a lot of people in your same situation and "rocking the boat " wont take you far. your senator cannot do anything for you if that was the case people would emailing them to speed up the process. In their mind they don't owe you anything Vermont is overwhelmed with case , there is nothing we can do but wait.

Thanks RodDetroit. It's just so frustrating for me because I see other cases in the same time period as me or later than me getting approved.

I just thought that the approval process is more systematic than just being random- i.e. all cases submitting to Vermont Service Center in June should be approved before July cases but it doesn't appear to be the case.

OP you should go to an Infopass to get an I-551 stamp in your passport so you have proof of your legal status.

Also if you are still married to your USC spouse, you could file your N-400, this would force USCIS to adjudicate your I-751. If you decide to do this don't forget to send a copy of your NOA1 for your I-751 in your N-400 packet.

I think you are posting in the wrong sub-forum. You are trying to get first Green Card good for 2 years.

This sub-forum is for those who have already done AOS, have their Green Cards for 2 years, and have filed for Removal of Conditions to get second Green Card for 10 years.

Yes I'm aware this is ROC sub form but it doesn't matter if your stuck in security checks for AOS or ROC your still stuck in limbo with security checks it's all the same checks they just re run them again... Wether its your AOS OR ROC security check it still sucks being stuck in limbo cause there is nothing you can do about it and I can empathize with them cause I'm in the same situation with security checks even tho I'm at a different application... Yes it is my first green card but I'm eligible for the 10yr and get to skip over the ROC and instead apply for narturalization instead of ROC since I've been married for longer than 3years Edited by Moslund

Did other member(s) have the same reply from USCIS?

Yes, but I didn't go through my senator to get it, it came as a result of my service request.

I reckon that the security checks letter is just a convenient excuse that are now sending to people caught in the backlog (in addition to those genuinely caught up in security checks obviously) as you can't question it in any way or speed it up.

CR1 / DCF (London): 2012 / 2013 (4 months from I-130 petition to visa in hand)

I-751 #1- April 2015 [Denied]

April 2015 : I-751 Joint filing package sent fedex next day 09:00am from UK ($lots - thanks).
Jan 2017: Notification that an interview has been scheduled at a local office. Bizarrely still no RFE...
Jan 2017: 2hr wait, then interview terminated before it began, due to moving my ID to another state 2 wks prior. New interview 'in a few months...maybe.'   Informed them that divorce proceedings are underway, but not finalised at this time.
March 2017: An Interview was scheduled - marked as no-show as they didn't actually send out a notification of interview. FML
April  2017: Filed an official complaint with the ombudsman, and have requested Senator & Congressman assistance
August 2017: Interview - switched to a (finalised) divorce waiver. Told that decision will be made that afternoon, but no problems foreseen with my case.
October 2017: Letter of Denial received - reason given as 'I-751 petition was not properly filed'. Discovered ex-spouse made false allegations to USCIS in 2015. No opportunity given to review & refute allegations  - contrary to USCIS policy.

I-751 #2 - Oct 2017 - Mar 2021[Denied]

October 2017: Within 72hrs of receiving denial notice, a new waiver I-751, divorce decree & $680 cheque, sent to Vermont via FedEx overnight 9am priority.
Dec 2019: Filed FOIA request for full A# file
Feb 2020: FOIA request completed - entire A# file received as a .PDF; 197 pages fully redacted, and 80 partially redacted. Don't waste your time!
March 2021: I-751 #2 denied for lack of evidence. No RFE, no interview, and evidence in previous I-751 not reviewed - contrary to policy. Huge errors in adjudication.

N-400 - Feb 2018 - Apr 2021 [Denied]

February 2018: N-400 filed online.  $725 paid to the USCIS paperwork wastage fund

February  2019: Interview - cancelled after a four hour wait due to 'missing paperwork' on their end. Promised Expedited reschedule.

March 2021: Interview letter received, strangely dated after I-751 denial. No I-751 interview conducted. N-400 interview and test passed, given 'cannot make a decision at this time' paper due to the ongoing I-751 nightmare...

April 2021: N-400 denial received citing recent I-751 denial as basis for ineligibility, even though it should have been a combo interview 🤯

I AM JACK'S COMPLETE LACK OF SURPRISE

Service Motion - March 2021 [Sent via FedEx & COMPLETELY IGNORED by USCIS]

March 2021: Service Motion request sent overnight addressed direectly to field office director, requesting urgent review and re-opening, based on errors in adjudication - citing USCIS policy, AFM and memorandums as basis for errors. This was completely ignored by USCIS.

 I-751 #3 - June 2021 - Jan 2024 [Denied]

IT'S GROUNDHOG DAY

June 2021: I-751 #3 (30+lbs/5000 pages of paperwork) & another $680 sent to USCIS via FedEx ($300+..thanks) ....

June 2021: Receipt issued, card charged, biometrics waived, infopass scheduled for I-551 stamp number ten.....

Feb 2022: RFIE (no, not an RFE, a Request For Initial Evidence) received, for copies of the divorce paperwork that they already have 😑

July 2022: Infopass for I-551 stamp number eleven.....

August 2023: Infopass for I-551 stamp number twelve....

January 2024: Denial received, ignoring the overwhelming majority of the filing, abundance of evidence, and refutation of a provably false allegation. The denial also contradicts itself in multiple places, as if it was written by someone with an IQ <50.

HAPPY NEW YEAR

2024: FML. Seriously. I'm done.

We are in the same boat as you. We have submitted two online requests for service and talked to customer service and got the similar answer about being stuck in security checks. Our one year mark was June 25th. We are trying to get an Infopass visit (when an appointment opens up online) so we can go see them in person and to get a stamp. And our case is with the CSC so that makes me feel worse because the back up is supposedly at VSC and not at CSC! :clock:

Hi everyone, I am an I-751 June 2015 filer. I was thinking that my approval will come after 6 months but unfortunately it has been 1 year since and I still have not heard anything back from USCIS.

I decided to contact my local senator to find out more information about my case and today I got a response from the senator office.

Case Number: 5#####

Dear Mr. &&&&&&&&&&:

Thank you for contacting my office with your matter. I have contacted U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services on your behalf.

According to USCIS, "Thank you for sending our office your inquiry for your constituent, @@@@@@ %%%%%%, in regard to Form I-751, Receipt Number EAC152###### and card producing Form CR-I89, Receipt Number EAC151######.

U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services computer systems show that your constituent's petition or application is still pending consideration. The processing of the petition or application has been delayed. All petitions and applications received by U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services are required to have routine security checks. This is resulting in delays of the adjudication of petitions and applications. We have no control over how long these security checks will take; therefore, we cannot determine when they will be completed."

I understand your frustration with this delay. However, I cannot expedite or waive the clearances required to complete the processing of your case.

I hope this information will be of help to you and that your matter is resolved promptly. If I can be of further assistance to you, please do not hesitate to contact my office again.

So this means that I am still not done with my security check yet?

Did other member(s) have the same reply from USCIS?
