Great strategy!

Donald Trump’s election as president of the United States would pose an unprecedented threat to the health of American democracy and possibly world stability. There is, however, an upside: Trump’s campaign is an absolute garbage fire. By all accounts it is the most organizationally and strategically inept campaign for a successful major-party nominee in recorded history. Ashley Parker and Maggie Haberman round up many of the details, but the basic story that emerges from their reports and others is that Trump has absolutely no idea what he’s doing.

Donald Trump: “There is No Drought” and Other California Water Inanities

(1) There apparently isn’t a California drought (though, look here).

(2) The entire water problem is the fault of environmentalists and California’s senators who “shove” all the water out to sea to protect “a three-inch fish” (referring to the endangered Delta Smelt).

(3) And when he “wins” he’s going to come back to California and “start opening up the water.”

Who knew California’s water problems were actually so easy to solve?

Today Donald Trump indulged in a special Memorial-Day-weekend flavor of bigotry, because theres no holiday from this mans rhetorical hell.

Speaking at the annual Rolling Thunder motorcycle rally in D.C., Trump told the crowd that immigrants in the United States who dont have a legal status are better cared for than American military veterans. This from a man who once criticized Arizona Sen. John McCains military service in Vietnam by saying, I like people who werent captured.

Having been in VA care and having seen an illegal in a local hospital getting free care I say he is right

Iraq war veteran may be denied citizenship
Ekaterine Bautista served honorably for six years and earned a Combat Action Badge, but she used a relative's name. She fears deportation.

Just five days before Ekaterine Bautista planned to become an American citizen, she got a call from the federal government: Her swearing-in ceremony had been canceled pending further investigation.

Bautista was devastated. An illegal immigrant from Mexico, she had served six years in the U.S. military including a 13-month tour of duty in Iraq and was eligible to apply for naturalization under a decades-old law.

But approval of her case depended on the discretion of citizenship officials. Bautista had served in the military under a false identity, that of her U.S. citizen aunt, Rosalia Guerra Morelos. [...]
