Well, I guess for spouses, they must have seen at least once for the wedding. I read here that they demand proof of meeting, or actually, pardon me, they expect the couple to have consummated the marriage if it was a proxy marriage.

There is no specific timeframe but you must be able to demonstrate that there is an "ongoing relationship". That would be difficult to demonstrate if you have not seen each other for 20 years, for example.

Timeline in brief:

Married: September 27, 2014

I-130 filed: February 5, 2016

NOA1: February 8, 2016 Nebraska

NOA2: July 21, 2016

Interview: December 6, 2016 London

POE: December 19, 2016 Las Vegas

N-400 filed: September 30, 2019

Interview: March 22, 2021 Seattle

Oath: March 22, 2021 COVID-style same-day oath

Now a US citizen!

For immigration satisfaction consummation doesn't mean sex but just that you have been in each others present after the proxy marriage. God forbid we don't need any sex videos right. :protest:

Haha! That's true, that would be something... Just imagine who would try to get a job there then? :o:unsure:

However, in order to "consummate", you would still have to meet, so... There is a requirement of sorts. Makes me happy to have married my SO when we were both present. Gosh, the girl who performed the ceremony was such a sweetheart! Makes me want to gush about our beautiful, if everything but crowded, ceremony all over again!
