I used to think dating would be so much fun, then I learned the hard way. It wouldn't be such a horrible thing if people weren't so determined to muck it up.

Even though my beloved thinks he is the lucky one, I feel like he saved me from another year of bad decisions and horrible kissers and egomaniacs and guys with a madonna/harlot (can't use the "w" word here) complex and dudes who want to be spanked and dudes who wanted to spank me and men who jumped back into the dating pool only three days after their wives moved out and polyamorists and at least two guys who were probably cheating on their wives and the man who hinted that he was into being peed on (he said this on the first date -- there was no second). I should be thankful that the ones that were okay enough for a while (the clinically depressed dispomaniac actor and the vaguely Asperger-y IT guru) had serious commitment issues.

This is why I will never leave Cheet-o dust on the couch. I can't go back to that.

Will you continue to pay if she is unwillingly to dine at fast food places / food courts in the mall, but only dine at the restaurants all the time ordering the expensive food?

Here is my rule of thumb:

First date should be someplace nice. Fast food/food court should only be once you're established in a relationship. So first night out, I tend to do research and find a nice place that has a friendly ambiance and decent food. It would be silly to expect red lobster every time you go out, even if we can afford it, it's not feasible.

You're only taken for a ride if you allow yourself to be. Someone worth dating/getting serious with will be happier with the little things you do rather than how much money you spend.

Such a dishonest way of doing something. If he doesn't intend to pay for the date then he should say so up front then the woman can decide if she wants to split it. However, if you're asking her out it's only polite to pay for the first date. If you can pay for one date how can you afford to have a family? If you're struggling tell her, maybe she'll be willing to work with you.

Men just don't understand being up front about their intentions can go a long way in determining what kind of relationship the woman will want to have with the man.

I'm so tired of hearing about she wants equality so why do I have to pay. Wanting the same pay as your make coworker who has the same degree and same experience is different from treating a woman like a lady. This why women in American have taken on more of a masculine role because men don't know how to be men. If you want your woman feminine you need to open doors, put gas in her car, get her feet done, don't bring your boys around and speak to her with respect. In return she'll give you the niceties you deserve.
