Tax Question during RFE (split post)

Hey guys,

I need some advice. I'm applying for I-751 waiver. We married December 9th, 2013. Thus, filing tax for 2013, I thought it'd be illegal to file as married and claim my spouse on my tax and get much tax credit, since we became legal couples only 21 days in the year 2013. Thus, I filled as single for 2013.

Meanwhile, among other things, they have sent me RFE asking for tax transcript for 2013. What do I do? Should I send it and explain why or ....?

Even if you married on 12/31/2013, you should have filed for married. These things are very important. You can't say you're married and do things as single especially when both parties are in this country. You can only send that and explanation letter and I will say add few things that are joint like bills and bank statements especially from the time of marriage.
