So barbados and I have officially given up on our packet 3 being lost. They sent it again yesterday through DHL so it can be tracked. They said Grenada has a habit of loosing things the Embassy send here.

So it should get here in a day or two...only problem is that we have to pay COD on this packet...and it will be at least $50!

Put a few more greenbacks on the tally.

But I'm glad we are finally getting the packet...I really just wish I could have down loaded it all instead.

Sue

I'm sorry about that, but at least they're sending another. Unfortunately you have to pay this time. I guess I'll never complain about mail in the US again.

My fiance got his packet 3 some time last week or so, but he had an appointment last week to go to the embassy. I assumed that the appointment was to pick up packet 3, but it sounds weird that they would mail it to him AND schedule an appointment for him to pick it up.

Anyway, he turned in the 230, so I guess now we just wait for packet 4. I'm going to email them, though, to try to find out his appointment.

I finally got an affirmative from the NVC yesterday.. they mailed my petiton to the embassy in Accra yesterday!!!!

ABOUT DAMN TIME!!!

oh, and I might have an opportunity to go to Ghana this summer as a group leader for some high school students.

That's great, GhanaLove. Ditto what Sue said, I'm glad things are moving again for you.

peace everybody!

i've been mia for a while! good news...today my fiance and i went to have our interview at the embassy in TZ!!!! and we were approved!!!:dance::dance: They told us to come pick up the passport tommorow. this has all moved so unbelievably quick and we feel so blessed. The embassy in TZ is great, very professional and efficient, and lucky for us has a relatively light case load. The interview was not tough at all, though we had prepared and practiced alot. (Im glad that I made the effort to be there) also i had a pretty sizeable binder filled with evidence but the CO did not ask to look at it. He did look at pix. It was his fist K-1 and he was like OK what do I do now? it was so cute! To God be the Glory!

This is so beautful. the past few months have been so so so stressful. This is so amazing! AM I DREAMING??????

Good luck everyone, Im rooting for you all!!!!!!! Thanks for all the support, Vj is the best!!!!!

Thanks so much!!!! It is such a relief...my anxiety was really getting to me...I worried about every little thing and in the end, everything was fine! ... I'll share a more detailed account of how everything went once I get back.

So were now in Dar es Salaam and were going to make the 9 hour bus ride back to Arusha tommorow (Thurs); My flight leaves from Arusha on Saturday nite but it would be like $5000 for him to get on the same flight (NW/KLM). So hes going to say bye to friends and family and fly out a few days after I leave. He'll fly into JFK cos its the cheapest. A one way flight is going to be about $1100 on BA or Swiss. Its horribly expensive but worth it. I'm so happy my babys coming home to me!!!!

Safitu,

Good luck on the traveling, I'm sure he might appreciate the extra couple days to say good bye and be there for the last time in a while.

Maybe you can print out all the AOS information and bring it on the plane....it'll either make you an expert by the time you get home....or give you a really good sleep.

I am going to the city tomorrow...packet 3 has finally arrived in Grenada via DHL. of ourse it'll cost us $75 just to pick it up...never easy is it?

But Kellon foun out that he can get all his immunizations for free...that's good since he doesn't have records of a single one! So maybe we just broke even.

We finally got Packet 3!

we had to pay $74 dollars to get it from DHL though. ugh...one thing that was supposed to be free. But as we look through it, it's missing all the medical info that is supposed to be in the packet. They reference the "enclosed leaflet" regarding the medical, but never "enclosed" it.

So now it's a wait again.

geesh.

and now for a little rant...

Canada still has not received Kellons request for his police check. So now we are out another $70 to send in another request and wasted 7 weeks waiting for it to get there.

The person who is our joint sponsor has not filled out the form still because he has questions...but won't talk on the phone long enough to tell us the question. I am in the process of finding another sponsor at the last minute.

the birth mother for kellons girls refuses to help us get birth certificates and won't answer her phone so we can get information to do it on our own.

If I get one more person trying to make me feel quilty about getting a fast approval through vermont...i may loose it!

brown paper packages tied up with string....These are a few of my favorite things....deep breaths, phew.

Keeping my chin up.

Oh Sue, you are really going through it. I'm sorry this is so complicated and frustrating. The mail thing must really be making you want to scream.

Don't pay any mind to all of the ####### about going through VSC. You don't have any control over what the service centers do, so tell anyone that whines at you to SHUT THE HELL UP!

Yeah, yeah, raindrops on roses and all of that...
