Did you get the answer to the notary question?

As for me, we have an appointment to pick up packet 3, at which time my fiance will be giving them the DS230. I have all of the financial docs, although I haven't notarized the I134 yet, and all of the DS forms filled out.

My fiance went today to pick up his police record, but he also has to get the No-Impediment form.

We can't schedule the medical until they give us an interview date, which they won't until he turns in the DS230.

Not got the answer yet :(

Packet 3 (part 1) has been sent back (all the DS forms) and just checking the boxes for the checklist which will be sent on Wednesday I guess

Good luck with that form, Tony... the medical is a breeze, other than being a trip to London on the train.

What are you guys doing about moving all of your "stuff" across? How expensive do you think it will be? Has anyone priced it with moving companies? Freight shipping? Pods or boat cargo? Airline surplus baggage? Or other options....?

We are even bringing a cat over! :o

Since we Vermont folks are flying through we better start to plan these things :D

We got packet 3 on the 26th. it instructed us to return DS230 immediatly, which we did. I emailed the consulate to see if they recieved the fax and they told me that my fiance should follow the K-1 instruction letter; that he is not required to fax any documents to the embassy. Thats funny cos the instruction letter specifically says return DS230, case cannot be processed until it is returned! Oh well. So the way it works for TZ consulate is you get all the documents required for K-1 visa, then secure an appt with consular section through...City Bank (yeah $100 visa fee to get an appt!) Hope to have all documents ready by mid-April. Fortunately TZ consulate moves fast...interviews scheduled 2 weeks out. Yipeeee!

Congrats to all those who are progressing so quickly and smoothly. Good luck to all...stay positive!

Wow, fax. I wonder if we could have faxed the DS230... I guess it's too late now, it's already in Jamaica. Although I guess he could try to fax it. I don't know if it would be any quicker than just bringing it in, though. Anyway, it seems like things are moving well for you, I hope it continues to go smoothly.

Just starting the journey, haven't yet filed... Until today(2/12/07)!

My update....

Let's see, I am still waiting for our Packet 3 to be delivered. It was sent regular mail so it can't be tracked, the embassy is telling us to give it another week. The embassy told me that it had been mailed Marcch 13th. That's two weeks now. I really hope it gets here soon.

But right now the entire West Indies has been taken over by World Cup Cricket so I have no idea when it might get here.

We still don't have any word on the Police check from Canada...they say they haven't even received the request yet. I'm waiting to hear back from them too.

I am stuck in snail mail he||!

But seriously, I'm not that stressed out. There isn't much I can do except sit back and wait to see what happens.

Sue

Wow. I have some understanding of what you're going through. That's why I'm glad that my fiance is supposed to be picking up packet 3 instead of them mailing it to him or I'd be saying the same thing. :( When is the World Cup supposed to be over? I haven't been following. Do you have an idea of how long it will take them to schedule the interview once the DS230 is in?

where are serendipitous and ghanalove?

Good question, I hope they can find their way here. I think I'll PM them and direct them here.

I too am still waiting for packet 3. It was mailed a week ago, but my fiance has not received it, nor have I. I requested the 'status' of our case via e-mail, and they replied that they sent packet 3 to MY address. I'm not sure why Ankara would mail it to me in the USA and not him.

Fortunately, we can download alot from the Ankara Embassy website, but I'd really like for him to receive it.

So, patiently waiting...

That's weird that they sent it to you. How slow is the mail there? In this age of technology, it's really frustrating to have to wait for snail mail. Especially in places where it's really slow. :( Anyway, good luck.

Hello fellow Feb.-filers.... I just found this thread and thought I'd hop in. I enjoyed reading all of your experiences so far... so much of it was "oh! that happened to me too!" I sent everything in at the end of January, and my first NOA was dated Feb 5!

Mostly so far I've been very impressed with how quickly everything moved... Not just with the VSC but with the consulate too! Ten days after the date of the NOA2 the consulate sent out packet 3, which arrived 10 days after that! Actually the most surprising part was having the quick turn-around between VSC and the Montreal consulate, as the US/Canadian border is notorious for swallowing and/or delaying mail for weeks. (Seriously, if I send two pieces of mail on the same day--one to Brazil and one to Canada--the one sent to Brazil will arrive faster.)

We are waiting for a response to the checklist having been sent in.... A response which I assume will include an interview date! Then again, the checklist was only sent in on Saturday, so I really should not be impatient yet.

Quick question for you folks: My father is sponsoring my fiance, as I'm a grad student and am living that cliche'd life of ramen noodles and wonder bread. I hadn't planned on providing my own affidavit of support (I134), as I figured my father's $100k+ salary would appease them, but it seems most of you are filling one out yourselves too, even with a co-sponsor. Do you think that's something I ought to do? I still have time to pull the info together since we haven't gotten an interview date yet, but it's not something I had previously thought might be necessary.

Good luck to everyone here, best wishes for speedy deliveries of meandering packets!

You are required to submit an I-134, plus documentation even if you have a co-sponsor. You are always the primary sponsor, but you may have a co-sponsor. No worries, many of us are doing the same: My father is the co-sponsor for my petition. Call the IRS and order your tax transcripts, get a letter from your bank, etc etc.
