which is better Chicago or LAX? for CR1 visa

and can anyone tell me what to expect or documents they ask for or steps in general... a detailed walkthrough would be highly appreciated

I keep reading about secondary inspection, what about it? and do they really take your visa packet from you? anything else I need to be aware of? Thanks!

I entered at IAD and barely spoke to the CBP officer. The whole experience was not much different than when I entered on my student visa. I went through the visitors line, gave the officer my passport, customs form, and the visa packet, got a pic taken and had my fingerprints scanned. He tore open the packet and looked through it and if I didn't notice him writing CR1 in my passport instead of IR1 we literally would not have spoken at all beyond "hello" When I pointed out it's past my second anniversary he asked me if there was a copy of the marriage certificate in the packet, I said yes and he looked through the packet again and found it, confirmed when our wedding date was, crossed out CR1 and wrote IR1 under it, stamped my passport and I was on my way to luggage claim & customs, no secondary (even though I expected it and my boarding pass was marked SSSS as well).

I agree with Anitafeliz -- smaller is better if there's a connecting flight since even though I spent about 5 minutes with the CBP officer, it took me about an hour to get to him and another hour to go through security again for my connecting flight.

Hi I arrived at LAX last month. Stop over to Taiwan for an hour via Eva Air. There's a lot of people at LAX and different citizenship. Not so long line and a lot of security and immigration officer. The immigration just asked my envelope packet from us embassy and I think he type my info on his computer. He asked me what country I'm from and what city I'm in LA. He asked me too how old is my fiancée and me. Then that's it he said I'm fine to go. Then i went down to get my luggage then another checkpoint. Then workers start to greet like Welcome to USA. Then i saw a lot of people waiting for the people arrived. I saw my fiancé waiving hands to me then that's it.
