I tried getting through to them, yes, but no luck. I will try after 6 pm. I really would like to know something.

Don't just open your mouth and prove yourself a fool....put it in writing.

It gets harder the more you know. Because the more you find out, the uglier everything seems.

I called USCIuselessS this am, was adamant about speaking to someone who could tell me something other than the standard answer. I was transfered to someone who told me our case was decided on May 11th. She would not say denied or approved. She said a hard copy will arrive early June or mid June.

She did make a slight slip and said when my ' approval arrived through the mail...' ,so I dunno what to think here.

OMG!!!  I'm  -ing furiously, cuz I'm not sure if I'm seeing right! Approved on May 11th?! That is great news Nagi! YAY! Keep calling NVC, all day if you have to....your petition is probably w/ them already and may even have already left NVC on its way to the consulate!

Keep us posted, please.

NAGS! Approved????? OMG!!!!!

Please let us know if that is the case!!!!!!!

CONGRATS!!!!!!

I called CSC, my petition is still on the hold shelf. I asked the guy if he could light a fire under someone's butt but they are "untouchables"! lol He did say things are slow because of the work visas, a whole backlog of them. He also said he might go to another country to find the love of his life! lol He was nice.

I agree with Paul&Minya, I think that you got approved already, Nagishkaw! Your NOA1 and mine (as well as Kengumbo's) are all around the same time (mine is the 28th) so that gives me more hope that maybe it could be sooner. Recently I have been resigned to the fact that we probably won't be approved until June 12, at the earliest...Keep us updated!

milena,

you should call them and demand to know if you are getting an RFE or where your petition is. Feed em some sob story if you have to. Although they would not disclose detail, I was able to get out of them that a letter WOULD BE SENT to me in early to mid-June with a decision. Like I said , the woman slipped and said, ' you will get the letter of approval....Oh, I mean a decision from us....' Then she went on to say that our case WAS decided May 11th with no RFE.

Don't just open your mouth and prove yourself a fool....put it in writing.

I haven't had any touches since March 12th, but either way I am gonna call and ask. Did you guys ask to talk to a manager or what? And then say ask if you were getting an RFE? Just curious how you guys did it, since whatever you did, at least you got past the standard answer :) I sure hope the rest of us will get approved soon!

There's an option in the automated menu, to inquire about receiving an RFE....press that. The system will ask you to input your case number (for the letters use the corresponding number on the touch-tone phone). You'll probably get a message saying "Please send in the information requested on the RFE" or something, but there is an option to speak w/ someone. Press that....once you get connected, say you're unsure....you think you received an RFE but you're confused and trying to get information. (Play the dumb card. ) That's how I did it...and a few others here. :)

Good luck!

FYI to those approved, waiting on NVC status....I got through to an 'operator' @ NVC (I know I'm getting ahead of myself but I couldn't help myself) and was told that my case is NOT in their database yet. :( Oh, well I'll try again at the end of this week....hopefully it'll get there before this long weekend coming up.

I do not remember how I did it, just pressed something for the RFE, got a hold of a live person, and told her I belong to an immigration web forum, and dont prattle answers to me that I can pull up online and read the same as herself. I told her I MUST find out what happened to my petition as people are getting approved without a hard copy and e mail notice. I was relentless and kept pressing her for answers. I was transfered to someone else, dont know who, told her the same thing and she asked me for my name, address, DOB and then told me our case HAD been decided on May 11th.

Best wishes to everyone!!

Hello everyone, just wanted to give an update. We received an RFE on mon, the 14, mailed it back out on Tues the 15 via express mail. It was received on the 17th (USPS confirmation of delivery). Since then, nothin. I called immigration this morning and got through to an officer. I was all fired up to list my complaints: no noa1 notice, no email notifications of noa1, rfe, etc. Of course, NOW I get a nice guy, so I couldn't be pissy. He told me that they have an overload of RFEs right now, but to expect an answer in about a week. So, my last resort...oh yeah, I begged. I asked him if he could just give me an early birthday present and approve it!!! Of course I was kidding, well kinda. He laughed and said he wished he could. I then said, "you just don't know how difficult it has been being separated, every day is hard". He empathized and said he has been through it, and he understands what I am going through. Da*n, why did I have to get a nice guy???!!! I needed to yell at someone!!! Anyhow, thats the sitch. Hope everyone is having a good monday.
