I have heard that when a person calls to inquire about their petition it may show up as being 'touched.' I dunno, seems that was the buzz last year , if I recall correctly. I hope Iam wrong about that.

Don't just open your mouth and prove yourself a fool....put it in writing.

It gets harder the more you know. Because the more you find out, the uglier everything seems.

Nagi, I remember reading that too somewhere here on VJ. That is why I waited until I saw a touch (it seems those are showing up on USCIS website, but no change in status) and then I called. This way I was sure they were doing something w/ my file, and the touch was not based on me calling to inquire. :)

Thanks for that info. I checked the site earlier this morning and it still is saying the same sorry old wore out date...February 26th. So no touches for me.

Hang in there...you're really close. I'm sure you'll get yours very soon. (F) (Check in the afternoon, early evening....that is when my touch registered. )

To be honest Ken, your story was the only one that sounded like they were really covering their butt - I think they just said yours was in line to be looked at, and maybe your prodding got them to finally look at it, which is great!

Seems like everyone else who got theirs approved '2 weeks ago' got their NOA2 sent or mailed around that time...it seems like my 'marked to be approved, but NOA2 not generated yet' is kind of unique, and I wonder if I should prod them further. Maybe next week I'll see if my call today had any result.

Did you try calling the NVC? Mine had been approved on the 3rd and no paper copy has yet to be sent out. They are messing up with those. My guy on the phone said if I hadn't gotten the paper copy in the mail in another 2 weeks then call back. I called NVC last night and it had just been recieved and I got my case #.

I tried emailing the NVC, maybe I'll try calling next. Hmm, so you don't have a proper NOA2 either? Your situation sounds exactly like mine.

Maybe I'll try calling, it looks like they are open all evening! That's nice.

I really don't believe my phone call had anything at all to do with my "touch." I don't think we have any influence over the outcome of this horrible process. My phone call timing was strictly coincidental with the scanning of my petition.

The point of my mentioning this story again was that you will never hear optimistic numbers from someone working on your application. And that any date they give you should be taken with salt. They give us CYA answers. I simply don't believe the June 4 date you were given. But certainly you should call again and try to learn as much as you can. Please keep us posted! Good luck, and I hope to hear of your approval real soon!!!

I put glue on the side of my box so it should be stuck to your box. They MUST process your application at the same time as mine!

YEAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!

I got through by phone to the NVC and they have already received my case and entered it!!!!

I wonder why the USCIS guy said I was marked for approval but that it hadn't been forwarded to NVC yet? He didn't really sound like he knew what he was talking about.

Well, it seems like the NOA2 machinery at CSC is completely broken - but things are getting forwarded to NVC properly. So I guess, the wise thing to do is to keep calling USCIS and using the RFE trick, and try calling NVC if USCIS says you're approved!!

Good stuff...you're on a roll now!

Did NVC tell you if your petition had been forwarded on to the consulate, or not?

I agree, the USCIS online case status site has gone completely haywire....H-1B visa backlog or not it is very frustrating!

At least the forwarding of petitions is still hapenning....that was also slowed down to a standstill a couple of weeks ago. So lets hope slowly CSC cllimbs out of the quicksand and we get back to some semblance of 'normalcy' w/ regards to processing cases. (That is CSC normalcy....you know the snail's pace we've all come to know.) ;)

Good luck everyone. Let's see more approvals!

They said they hadn't forwarded it to the consulate yet...but man, now that it's out of California...I feel relieved.

I was very worried about mistakes I made in correcting the original G-325 form (the original photocopies looked good with correcting paper, but then I re-sent the original copies with things crossed out and correct in case they needed original signatures - and then after I sent it, realized a color copy of the corrected original would have been indistinguishable from a pristine original. So I have had this fear all this time that I screwed things up.)

I'm going to India in October and hope she can come back then; so now we have 5 months for things to get to the consulate and for the interview and everything...I was worried everything would be bogged down in CSC for another month or two.
