So this may be a really stupid question, but I'm always seeing people talking about their AOS getting transferred to the CSC. I get that that's better and means no interview, but does anyone know the criteria for cases that are sent there? Is it because the application is really well put together, because their local office is swamped? And does it always result in approval if a case gets sent to the CSC?

Sorry if these questions have no real answers, I'm just curious! (Especially because I've heard the Memphis local office, the one we have, is particularly swamped, so I'm hoping that's a reason for a transfer!).

Yes, swamped may be the reason. I asked the officer about this during my AOS interview, and she told me that they are so inundated with a lot of AOS applications that they are needing the help of other service centers. Although, being transferred does not guarantee approval w/o interview, I've read about a few cases that has been transfered back to the local office where an interview was required.

I read in another immigration message board that a whole batch of AOS cases were transferred to TSC over the past couple of weeks and more will be getting transferred there because CSC is now also swamped.

In my opinion, I don't believe that your local office being swamped is the reason for being trasfered to CSC. Our local office is probably one of the slower offices. I would think California would be busier than most offices. So I don't see why pthat would be the reason. In some cases it may have something to do with it.

California local offices have been some of the quickest local offices. Just because one may live in a heavily populated new immigrant state does not mean the offices are slower.

Our AOS was transfered to CSC from the Missouri.. It's sometimes good to transfer to that center u might not have an interview... I don't have an interview and i rec'd my welcome letter and green card at the same time. .. And also it won't take too long... I mailed my AOS Dec 02, 2006 and I was approved without interview Jan 29.

Hope you the best!!! Good Luck and God Bless!!!
