Hello :)

I was wondering if anyone that has gone through this knows if both husband and wife have to go to the interview? I'm a US citizen married to my husband for 7 years now and we have two kids together ages 4 & 5. My husband is currently in Mexico and I'm in California. I have a friend of mine who petitioned for her hubby the adjustment of status and they have two kids too and have been married for 8 years but they told her to go to the interview with him. If you want to know why she didn't petition for him before is because they both were living abroad in South America. Her husband applied for the tourist visa and got approved recently(after years of marriage) and went to the U.S and stayed there until my friend arrived with her two kids and two months after their arrival she filed the petition. So I wonder if this would apply for me? Or why would I need to go if we have been married for years?

Thanks!

AOS is different than consular filing. You do not have to go to the interview. In some countries, yes, this is pretty much a requirement, but not Mexico.

I'm not going to comment on your friend...

You're welcome.

I can be expensive to travel with kiddos. I'm sure they'll be super happy to have Dad back full time!
