AOS Vaccinations

Hey guys,

Just looking for guidance in relation to AOS vaccinations. I'm going to need a tetanus booster in order to have the full vaccinations necessary for adjustment of status. I've had my medical for the K1 and (stupidly) chose not to have the booster at the time thinking I could just get it done by my GP.

Now, I'm travelling into the US on the K1 visa in a couple of days, so no time to get the booster done in the UK and so having to find out how to go about it in the US. Am I right in thinking that I just need to contact the local civil surgeon and have them bring my vaccinations up to date and provide some sort of documentation to include in the AOS process?

The documentation is Form I-693 completed by a Civil Sirgeon in the US. Call around and ask prices because most insist on doing a full medical exam $$$

This won't help with the sign off of the form.

But you can do travel clinic appointments at boots very short notice, which for a TDAP booster will be cheaper than doing the same in the US. (Even if you don't go via GP for this)

Obviously, I know time is short for you with leaving preparations, but the appointments take like 30 mins max

yep go to a travel clinic there not that expensive compared to possibility of full medical again in US. Make sure you get a receipt/ certificate confirming the jag. Ive used them and found them to be reasonable.

Getting a shot on the UK or US doesn't solve the problem of having to see a Civil Surgeon in the US to fill out form I-693 now that he/she has missed the boat getting signed off at Knightsbridge. Price difference for shot? 2 quid less maybe in UK?? What if he pays for Tetanus and then Civil Surgeon says it must by Td according to USCIS?

The problem is many civil surgeons won't sign off unless you have the full medical exam. You have to call around and hope to find one who will do the vaccination sheet only for $50 or less.

You can get the Td anywhere you like, but the civil Surgeon has to copy all your required immunizations to the new form and sign off. The USCIS list says Tetenus/Diptheria/Pertussis or Tetanus/Diptheria. Tetanus (alone) is not on the list.
