Yes, I read an article that suggested the online travel websites read your IP address (it has information about your country) and give different rates based on this. So yes, I am thinking about letting her book it or something like that.

Yeah, my fiance and I looked at the same website at the same time--mine is cheaper! We're thinking also having me purchase the ticket instead.

Thanks Hank! Being in Manila is lucky, because everything is fairly easy to get. On the other hand, it is unlucky, because it's still Manila. (I much prefer the rural areas)

I read online that if we book her flight with a Philippines IP address, it can shave several hundred dollars. Maybe we will do that!

I have not heard of saving hundreds by booking your flight with a Philippines IP address. If you are booking your flight from the Phils, check with some of the local Travel agencies to see if they can save you some money. Do pay attention to whether the Travel Tax is included or not. ;)

I hear ya on being in Manila makes things easier... but it is Manila  Our home is in Taguig.

Hank

Hello, I realize this was a couple months ago but can you tell me how long it took to get the visa? Have our interview soon and thinking about gambling on booking the flight ahead of time (after approval but before visa in hand). It would be about 13 calendar days after interview.

Thanks

I wouldn't gamble on that cuz I did before with 2 weeks after her interview and didn't get the visa to 2days after had to rebook

Wow. OK, thanks

Hope you dont mind me asking but did you have to pay like a $300 fee for changing departure or was it more? I am thinking fi the initial difference is bigger than the resheduling fee it might be worth it. But then again I think you have to pay the difference in new rate plus the fee. I have 3 tickets to buy so this is a concern.

Thanks
