Regarding hearing back on RFE

Hi--I have a question. When we filed our CR-1, I gave my email address for corresponding. We just received an RFE for additional divorce papers for my husband, and we will hopefully have those this week to send back to USCIS. I am leaving June 6 to spend the summer with him and won't be back until July 15. I am afraid that something will come in the mail from immigration while I am gone, and another delay will be created. I only got regular mail RFE papers, no notice on email. I am thinking of attaching a note asking to be contacted by email if there is another problem. Has anyone had experience with this?

I'm also hoping maybe he will have his interview while I am there. Any idea how long from RFE receipt to interview time?

Anyway, thanks for any and all advice. :clock:

Are you awhere of the NVC stage? Unless you're doing DCF to bypass that stage.

Yes, that's why I was asking and wondering if Nebraska goes ahead and approves our case and sends it to NVC, whether they will contact me by snail mail or email, as I will be in Pakistan all of the summer. I was wondering how long between sending back the RFE and interview.

Are you signed up for updates on the USCIS website? They can tell you if you get an RFE but not what's in it. The NVC will likely email you if they have your email on file. If not keep track of when NOA2 happens and email or preferably call them yourself.

Also you have at least a year to do the work at the NVC so all you lose is a little time if you get busy or don't receive notifications.
