Hi everyone!

So....

Here's my experience at my local ASC last week, and a question.

I went to get my biometrics done and I think I recognized the lady who took me in from 5 years ago when I got my GC except this time she wasn't as nice/cooperative as last time.

She had just come in from lunch and I could tell she was running low on patience, so when she took me over to get fingerprinted I warned her that my prints were going to give her some trouble. I have a diagnosed medical condition that pretty much means I sweat excessively from my hands, feet, blah blah, not necessarily related to emotional/psychological state but it is naturally exacerbated when I'm nervous or anxious. To make matters worse, I have been a Massage Therapist for the last 4 years, so my prints have had the ####### beat out of them for that reason. So I told her this because I figured she'd have some tricks up her sleeve and I couldn't possibly be the only person who comes in with sweaty hands. Her demeanor shifted for the worse to kind of a "FML" attitude and the only thing she did to help me was wipe my fingertips clumsily and forcefully with balled up cheap paper towels every time one failed. Obviously as more failed I began getting more and more anxious which made me sweat more and I honestly felt like I was taking up precious hours of her time, even though I was in and out in 10 minutes, including filling out the form.

So in the end I had four random prints that didn't pass and she asked what I was applying for and when I said Citizenship she said "then it's probably fine". So now I guess I have to wait for the FBI to run them and may or may not get another appointment letter :(

When I went for biometrics for me GC I had to go in a second time because so many prints failed, but the lady at the ASC actually scheduled me another appointment right then and there, so I'm hopeful I won't have to go in again.

Has anyone had this experience before?

This has not happened to me personally, but I've read about it happening to a handful of people. Here's the procedure: Your fingerprints will be sent to the FBI. If they are determined to be unreadable, you will be sent a second biometrics letter in a few weeks. If your second set of prints are also unreadable, then a few weeks after that, you'll be sent instructions on obtaining police clearances. You'll be required to obtain police clearance reports from every town you have lived in while you were a permanent resident. This will involve going to a police station and having your fingerprints taken the old-fashioned way (with ink). The report should take a week or two. Once you mail in these reports, your application process will continue as usual.

hi CrisMaz,

can you please share how did you manage getting FP with sweaty hands.

i am too planning for US visit later this year for business trip.

I am pretty sure:
1) my FP won't be accepted while applying itself as sweat causes incomplete FP
2)even if somehow it get accepted while applying, i will face issues in verification of FP post landing in US as those have to match what i submit while applying. This happens as it would have got accepted when i was sweating less, but when i land there i would be sweating. Will they send me back from US if they can't get proper FP for cross verifying with original FP?

Please share as you had faced similar kind of issues..
