Warning.. vent post.

Okay, I've looked through DHL for the past week and a half+ and I checked their site for my case that was forwarded from NVC.

I've looked through like a months worth (some weeks before my ship out date and a week after my ship out date, just for historical information). There are like NO Sydney destinations except ONE, one that was suppose to be MINE.

The Sydney one that is listed on DHL coincides with the date that NVC told me it was sent out.

I emailed the Sydney Embassy and this is what they said:

Thank you for your inquiry.

We have not received the file from the National Visa Center (NVC).

As soon as we do, we will send you the paperwork (pkt 3).

This process can take an additional 2 – 4 months.

Sincerely,

Immigrant Visa Unit

American Consulate General, Sydney

That's a lie!!!!! I know they have it, cause it was signed for like a few days after it was sent!

There hasn't been any other Sydney shipments in any sort of time frame around mine, but the ONE packet that I thought would be mine!

I mean it's not like tons of packets go to Sydney, i only know that cause I looked at back information.. so I thought it was mine.. but then I get an email from them that they never received it.

This is from the DHL site..

Could it be that the consulate as a whole received the package, but it hasn;t been processed to the proper office that replied to your e-mail? Have you looked at timelines though your consulate with other VJ members to see what is the average time from NVC to being assigned an interview?

Good luck!

Thanks for the response.. I think I'm just emotional cause I just want everything to go smoothly. And it has so far.

I guess I'm farther along in this process than other people who had to file through service centers other than VSC so I should be happy about that but it's just so frustrating to be told that they haven't received the packets, when you were under the impression that they had.

Sorry to complain though, I'm just so sad to have read that email, I would have been better off assuming it had been received.

Grrr.

Good thing I have you guys to come to for guidance. (even though my fiance has tried to reassure me.. his isn't working! heh..)

You're less then 40 days since NOA1 !!!!!!!!! Sorry NO ranting allowed!! not from you. not yet

You're paperwork's there, probably just hasn't been processed into their system at the embassy yet.

You want to feel good?? Look at my timeline!! and others from Spring of 2006!!

My fiancee has her interview Tuesday but her medical won't be done until Wed. So that could add another one to two months.

There goes our wedding plans out the window!

Problems? Stress? You don't have a clue about STRESS!!

Be grateful. Ours took 8 months just to get to the embassy!

Gonna try again.

Hey smarty pants, hence me apologizing in my second post:

Sorry to complain though,

I'm sure whenever you hit a snag in something no matter how little it seems, sometimes you get upset about it too. I'm not just talking about visa processes. Do you ever have a day where you feel like the world has gone against you? Well when you do think about the kids in third world countries, they have a lot more to complain about you.

I warned you in my first line it was a vent post. I didn't ask you to read my thread.

Hey Serendip,

Hang in there, I know it is frustrating but I am sure you will hear soon AND feel free to vent/rant anytime you want to. :) We all know what you are going through and it doesn't matter what timeline you have. Here's hoping that your process keeps being speedy. I wouldn't wish a long process on anyone, been there done that and it's hard.

Remember you have lots of support if you need it in the Aussie Forum.

Exactly! You can rant in the Aussie Forum anytime you want..you got our support but out here in general VJ land I am disappointed to say that people just aren't as supportive.

As I said before I have a long timeline, but it really doesn't matter who's timeline is long or who's is short....it's just a tough process all round and it helps to be able to talk about it when you need.

Ameristralians have gotta stick together!
