hi everyone! i had a question...it may be kind of a stupid one but my husband received his ead card. can he use that as an ID to fly within the U,S.? he doesnt have his green card yet. we are waiting for the fbi clearance.

Why can't he just use his passport as ID? That said, an EAD might be acceptable to travel with, as its a government issued ID, but I'd guess you might encounter some people who question it.

nooo he wont be able to travel with his EAD because thats mot an ID accepted ,he has to use his passport .

Fair enough, EAD is a government issued photo ID, so I thought it might be OK, but I guess not!

my friend had green card and he had problem at airport and air port officials at midway airport chciago did not allow him to fly (domestic).

Mostly people use 1. Vaild Passport ; State ID and Driving Liscence as acceptable ID at US airports. I suggest you to take both EAD and passport to airport and try your luck with EAD first and if it did not work use passport.

If you're going to take a passport anyway, just use the passport!

BTW - I believe a Green Card is on the list of valid forms of ID, unlike the EAD.

It's not? For domestic travel a government issued photo ID is required at security checkpoints. An EA card seems to fit the all aspects of the requirement.

As a practical matter, what's an "ID accepted" may depend on the person who is doing the checking.
