My wife has the interview scheduled for June 7th and when she went to get her medical exam, she met a consultant who claims he can look at our packet and verify everything is good to go. She didn't get a price from him but are these consultants worth the time and money? How much do they charge?

U dont need any consultant at this stage, the embassy sent you the checklist of what u need to bring to the embassy, u can as well go to the embassy website to see the needed documents to take along for your wife's interview.

My question isn't about the questions that will be asked during the interview. It is about having someone look at the packet to make sure it is complete before the interview just to make sure. Thanks for the help.

Several years ago when we went through the GUZ consulate, we rented a room around the corner from the old consulate. The proprietor, can't remember his name, was talking to my then-fiancee, and offered to look over our paperwork. I think that he had been making a good life renting these rooms to folks dealing with the consulate for years, he had seen a lot of paperwork for visa applications. I don't think he charged us anything, and if he did, it was a nominal 5 or 10 RMB. It all went well.

Good luck on your immigration journey.

No need to pay anyone. If paying someone gives you peace of mind then go ahead, but you just need what is listed on the Packet. All of these forms can be found on the US Guangzhou embassies website: http://guangzhou.usembassy-china.org.cn/forms_and_packets.htm

It is really very simple. Have everything and go in.
