Good afternoon !

Thank you in advance for any help , I'm freaking out we finally hear from USCIS today and I'm not sure If everything is okay .

My husband got a letter in the mail today from USCIS stating that his case was sent to San Francisco for further processing . However the letter also is requesting additional information , they are asking for documentation that proves that it's a bonafide marriage .

When we submitted the AOS package we submitted the required documents but I never sent additional documentation because I read previous posts on VJ and many stated you didn't have to . Should I be concern ? Has this happened to anyone

Please help!!! Any comment would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks again

We also received a RFE for bonfide marriage for our AOS. Our letter came from Sacramento and that's where we mailed everything they asked for. At the bottom of the list of possible evidence it even stated any documents you feel provide proof of marital union for the last 3 years.

This just proves that the government don't have their act together. The info they are asking for is for removal of conditions not AOS but we sent in as much as we could because it's the government and they do what they want.

Our RFE came without notice. On the USCIS website our information hasn't been updated since "your application was received". We had no idea we were getting an RFE. His EAD was updated after we received it in the mail, but nothing else.

So you are not alone. Hang in there.

We are still waiting to hear something. We mailed the RFE package 1 week ago. I know they received it, only because I asked for a signature upon delivery

Two of my friends got rfes for relationship proof for their aos. One of them from the San Fran office and she lives in Miami. Just provide what they ask for. My friend from Miami had the aos approved a few weeks after sending in their documents.

Thank you I really hope that everything goes smoothly :)

Just ensure that you provide evidence of your marriage. If I may ask, what did you provide with your application?

Thank you ,

well when we sent out the AOS package we were only married for a couple of weeks so we submitted the necessary documents that each of the AOS forms required , I even got legal advice and the lawyer stated that we did not need to send any pictures because we were removing conditions from the K-1 visa. She stated that the proof is requested once you remove conditions for the permanent green card. that is why i found it so strange but I will do as they say and provide them all the proof they need

When we got the letter i was in shock because we submitted his AOS package a couple of weeks after getting married. After reading my letter 5 times last night , I feel that who ever is handling our case thinks that we are removing conditions because in the letter they are requesting pictures of trips together that we have taken , ( we have only done weekend trips but we are limited in the types of vacations we can take since he cannot travel and he started working only 3 weeks ago, that was just odd to me).The letter even states that they do not want selfie pictures ( lol), they want pictures of me with his family here in the states but he only has a sister here who does not live close by. bank , credit cards, our state ID's, health insurance cards!!! but I am going to give them everything they are asking for and a little more. I just hope everything goes smoothly from here on out.

Thanks for the support , i feel comfort in knowing that I am not the only one going through this. This process is very emotional and overwhelming but at the end of the day I have my husband here with me and that is something I am grateful for .
