Aren't you the "visa counselor" or whatever that charges people money then comes to VJ to ask their questions?

your friend is not right. how old are you ?

His friend is 100% right. Travel history is looked at for visitor visa applicants, and those who are denied are suggested to visit other countries and establish a pattern of responsible travel along with improving ties to their home country.

Not sure how OP's age matters when he isn't the one applying for a visa..

no it is not right, do you know how it works for an applicant for a third world country ? Applicant traveled extensively, had all those shiny visas and pictures ready to show off the IO to prove the point and was not even asked for all that. on the basis of conversation, he/she got told that he/she is a potential immigrant and not qualified for a B2. this happens all the time. travel history might be beneficial but not crucial. what if an applicant is planning to take his/her first ever trip to the US ? means he/she hold no ground or a valid B2 applicant ?

The claim was "experience matters". And it can/does regardless of the country the applicant is from. You yourself just said it was beneficial..

Aren't you the "visa counselor" or whatever that charges people money then comes to VJ to ask their questions?

For the records, i recently developed interest in immigration discussions, just like most people here.

I have never collected cash to tell people what they need to know, i just love doing it.

i have never stated on any thread that i collect cash but believe that people for who they are jump to conclusions.

i am in full support of the comment that b2 visa in Nigeria is useless

a friend had his interview in lagos this week and based on his remarks, i will advice Nigerians to do better things with their money than hand it over.

try South Africa, UK or ghana

you will spend less and save more.

based on his remarks,

he was one of about 3 before him that got a visa, blue letter everywhere.

why he got his?

he is married with kids, well paying job here, been to US many times and back.

he was certain he would have been denied also.

only 1 CO was jovial and same jovial CO kept refusing everyone.

I am at a loss to understand how someone earning so little could afford to vacation in the US.
