Hi,

Visa annotation:

To Attend Conference

Guaynabo, Puerto Rico

July 5-10, 2016

The trip is reserved to reach Puerto Rico on July 2 and leave on July 11. Because other flights are busy.
Is this may cause some inconvenience?
I do not want to make mistakes that could jeopardize my visa.

This text do not matter to the US mission abroad. this is sad that people from (high fraud countries as per USCIS) have to prove so much about the legitimacy of their travels and local embassies are well aware of the pattern or different ways how people try to cheat the system.it affects the genuine visitors from these countries. No enough ties to the home country, financial status or family obligations matters to the US embassies in poor countries (even though the 214b says it, there is just no way to prove this). it is one's shear luck on the given day. it is a harsh truth. good luck to you. Also, the whole process is age specific or in the other words, little more lenient to older applicants.

I doubt that would be an issue.

“If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.”

why don't you elaborate your answer for this OP ? taking different sort of paperwork to the visa interview can never be an issue. That is common sense

Not sure what you are talking about, I answered the OP's question, you seem to be talking about something else.

“If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.”

So, does this not cause me problems on arrival in Puerto Rico before the date on visa annotation

That should not be a problem at all. If you were landing in Peurto Rico months before your conference start date, then yes, you might run into issues at the POE. In some visa types (like study(F1) visa), you can travel up to 30 days earlier than the school start date. I bet there will be some allowance in B1 visa too.
