Threatening call from IRS

It seems my poor phone has fallen victim of a crank call supposedly from the IRS today... I recieved a voice message from a robotic voice on a Nevada Number: 702-757-0817 informing me of my final warning that the IRS are filing a law suit against me. Of course when you google this number it doesn't come up as the IRS at all, just a crank number that people are logging complaints about. It makes me so angry that this can happen. Imagine if it was a vulnerable or old person who actually fell for this scam?? I have seen a lot about these phone calls on the news. For anyone else who has received a call like this... the IRS NEVER EVER call you, they contact you my mail. Im so stinking mad about this.

The IRS is always very polite & professional in their phone calls, and they will mostly interact via mail, not calling you directly.

If you get rude / bill collector type behavior claiming to be the IRS its almost always a scam.

Yes it's a scam. Sometimes it's an actual person that calls, and they can be especially nasty and threatening. Also never respond to phone calls from persons claiming to be from Microsoft, Windows, or Apple.

I try not to let other people being buttheads make me angry. Are they jerks? Yes. Could they potentially get money from someone unsuspecting? Yes, that's why they do it. Should they go to jail? Absolutely! But should you let it make you mad? No.

I got this too and it was one of the most aggressive scams I have heard. It made me worried for the elderly too, because I panicked for a minute or too until I realized it had to be fake. I saw it top some ABC list of worst scams from 2015.

I used to get calls from the US Government Grants department. It is some person with a thick Indian accent claiming to be from the US government and that I won a grant of $7000. They know my personal information too. I know it is a scam since the government doesn't randomly call people offering free money but when I tell them I am not interested they get extremely defensive and start swearing at me. I got the Microsoft calls too. However, I just press ignore any time these people call and now they don't really call me anymore.

Potentially even more worrying for VJ users are the scammers who claim to be from USCIS

Eighteen years in the US and I still don't understand Velveeta, TV ads for prescription drugs, only getting 2 weeks paid vacation, or why anyone believes anything they see on Fox "News".

These scams make me so angry.....A while back immigrants would the IRS scam call. They were told to give a credit card number to pay taxes. I have made my wife aware of such calls and scams. I told her just to hang up, or tell them she must consult me first.....or the best one....she doesn't understand English.
