Need Advice RFE [merged threads]

Hi every one. Ok a little background, we moved may 4th, changed address with uscis and post office on same day, got the confirmation in the mail of the address change from uscis may 7. We got an RFIE on may 5th but the email and online notice didn't post the update until may 11th. I already know what the RFIE is for (the auto fill/delete issue on the I-864) but I have not gotten it in the mail yet. I am worried the move may have effected something, I got the other notices within a few days, now its been a couple of weeks and I dont know how to get a copy of the notice. any advice? or should I just wait? if they mailed it with usps it should be here by now right? Ive never had a letter take longer than a week to send snail mail.

Can you tell I'm miffed?

Ridiculous state of affairs. Causes more work for them and us. If they won't fix the form at least update the instructions with a warning about that.

Yes I was caught out by it haha (should have had one last very close look at my application forms I guess)

So we got our RFE finally,it pertains to the I- 864. It says "page 3 part 4 list someone other than the sponsor or is blank". So I get this part, the auto delete on the pdf was the problem, basically the name on page 3 was blank.

However it also says "Form i-864 was submitted from a joint sponsor, however, the names listed on page 1 and page 3 are not the same" We didn't have a joint sponsor, is this on here because the page 3 sponsor area was blank, and the page 1 sponsor area was not?

So confused

Oh, I got the exact same RFE last Friday. I was sooo frustrated to think I made this stupid mistake! Thanks for letting me know is wasn't fully my fault lol.

I think the joint sponsor part is because since we left the sponsor name in blank they don't know if the form was filled by our main sponsor or joint. At least that's the conclusion my husband and I came to, since we also did not use any joint sponsor.

I filled the form again and sent it back the following morning, in addition, I mailed all the tax refunds, w2s and pay stubs (again). They received it on Monday morning, but no update in the system so far. I just hope this won't interfere on my WP.

AOS filled: April 4th, 2016

Received in Chicago: April 5th, 2016 (Day 1).

NOA: April 9th, 2016

NOA for Biometrics schedule: April 20th. 2016

RFE: May 9th, 206 - (Left Page 3, Part 4 of I-864 blank)

Biometrics: May 12th, 2016 (Day 37)

Service Request for EAD: June 24th, 2016 (Day 80)

EAD Approved: July 2nd, 2016 (Day 88)

Advance Parole Approved: July 2nd, 2016 (Day 88)

EAD + AP Combo Card Delivered: July 9th, 2016 (Day 95)

Interview: January 10th, 2017

Green Card Approved: January 10th, 2017

Green Card Received: January 17th, 2017

I know right? so ridiculous.....they sent the forms to my old address, luckily the new owner informed me and I picked them up

Yes. Fill it out correctly and send it back. Don't worry about the joint sponsor stuff, if you did not use one to begin with.

Yes I got caught out with exactly the same thing! I too was confused for a minute about the joint sponsor sentence but pretty much ignored it as I never indicated such a status on my form originally.

In my case I sent back everything again! Tax returns, W2's (no pay stubs) as well as the petitioner evidence of US status to boot!

They are reviewing the information as my I-485 case status updated to received evidence.

Keep saying in other posts but why is the form built like that?!

If nothing else put a warning in the instructions if they don't want to amend the form!

Hopefully yours gets moving again soon.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

It seems like it happens to a lot of people, maybe some kind of sticky post made by a moderator to warn people would help. At least people coming to this site? Just a suggestion. This site and its moderators have been so helpful.
