haha...thanks guys. It's kind of like a non-issue any more because we're sort of used to this. The funny thing is we've asked for help from Senator Obama's office three times with no help (they "lost our request" twice, didn't respond another time, then asked us two weeks ago if they could help us further...ha!) We'll hang out for another few weeks and then go in again to see what the status is. It's all we can do!

Well holy buckets, I may have spoke too soon! This morning a representative from Senator Obama's office called to apologize for the lack of help they've given us and promised to look into our case. Then when I get home there was an interview notice in our mailbox...oh my!

Krikit, you seem to be pretty knowledgeable about the Medical Exam...in his interview notice the first piece of required information is "medical examination form I-693 in a sealed envelope". Does this mean they don't have his or that it's too old to use? Will have have to complete a new medical exam?

Hooray for some sign of life out of USCIS! :D Now to research interview experiences in Chicago...

So, I finally decided to get off my butt and come check out this thread hoping to find that everyone had been approved. I'm happy to hear that many have, but also sad that many are still playing the waiting game.

Cellarlily - thank goodness you finally have something concrete happening!!!! I'm so glad to hear that you finally have an interview. Hell, I know who I'd be voting for (IF I could vote.) By now, the evidence gathered must be astounding - there is no way you will not be approved! You don't need it but ... Good Luck!

For the rest of the Marchers still on my list:

Congrats to autumnchik, Lisa and Phil, lkm12005, nannygirl82, patience is hard, snz1802, sparks and stank K who all received approvals since I last updated.

Amber&Neil have gone mia and there seems to be no update for either LittlePumkin or scottukga. If any of you three couples are still waiting (we know for sure LittlePumkin is) , let's hope cellarlily's own positive steps will lead the way for you to also receive good news.

Hey, cellarlily - because you have waited so damn long, I hope this means that once you receive the GC that you won't have to refile in 2 years to remove conditions. Perhaps this will be it! Fingers crossed

Oh my, I could only hope it's the 10 year, but I doubt it. Still...2 year conditional is better than nothing! :D

Well, our interview is this Thursday and we're freaking out! We're mostly just excited that it's almost over for a while, but I'm finding it hard to sleep at night given how important this interview is. Here's our checklist. Please let me know if we're missing anything:

1. Vaccination Documentation (original)

2. Affidavit of Support form I-864 dated 7/9/2008 (USC)

a. Tax Returns with W-2s for 2005-2007

b. Current employer letter

c. Last 4 pay stubs and overview of last 12 months of paychecks

3. Two (2) passport photos of Immigrant (plastic bag) *** Do I need passport photos as well?

4. Copy of EAD (original to be provided)

5. Copy of I-94 (original in passport), original receipt of I-485 and two original transfer notices as proof of legal entry

6. Original birth certificates for BOTH and original deed of change of name for Immigrant

7. Evidence of ongoing marriage

a. Lease agreement with both names

b. Certified copy of marriage certificate

c. Last 3 statements from joint checking account showing joint purchases

d. Copy of health insurance cards in USC's name and print-out of all benefits for USC with Immigrant as beneficiary

e. Invitation to exchange of vows ceremony and reception 8/25/2007 (occurred after civil ceremony 3/3/2007)

f. Cards from family for wedding, Christmas, 1st Anniversary and Easter

g. Honeymoon itinerary to St. Croix, US Virgin Islands 1/5/2008-1/12/2008 (both names on itinerary)

h. 2007 joint tax return

i. Ceremony/Reception and vacation photos (dated between 8/25/2007-6/7/2008)

In addition, we will be bringing our Passports, State ID card/Drivers License, SS cards, original health insurance cards (with both our names on them) and copies of all of the above. We don't have a lot of "joint" things...we share a family plan on T-Mobile, but I have no idea how to prove that, and we each have bills that we split, but aren't in both our names. Do you think that's an okay amount of stuff to bring? So nervous!!

Good luck with your interview! Of course the men sleep sound while us women are crazy nervous ha ha. Well, our interview is in 13 days from now in Atlanta, GA!! I've gotta get things together for that This Week!!!

Question: So if I sent in the Affidavit of Support and the medical WITH the AOS in March, do I bring a new one to the interview, or not?

And also what the best way to organize the marriage proof? Is it ok to have a file folder + a binder/scrapbook + 2 picture albums? Or is that TOO much??? (=

Thanks and please keep my husband and I in your prayers now and especially the morning of July 22!!!

Jesus holds the key to YOUR future! So why not put ALL your trust and faith in HIM?

The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? The Lord is the stronghold of my life; of whom shall I be afraid? Though an army encamp against me, my heart shall not fear; though war rise up against me, yet I will be confident. (Psalm 27: 1, 3)

Thank you!

You should prepare a new I-864 with updated information, especially if you didn't include your 2007 tax return or if you have any change in income. That's the #2 item on our interview notice list, so I made sure to get that done. Included with it I have an updated employer letter, last 3 years of tax returns, W2s and last 4 pay stubs.

The medical...I don't know. They asked for his full medical on the interview notice, but he submitted that upon entry, and we sent his vaccination supplement with AOS. Since there are other items that aren't applicable (divorce papers, arrest records, english translations), we think it might be a form letter. So...here's hoping. I'll let you know what we find out tomorrow.

As far as organization...I organized and re-organized so many times. I have the I-864 separate, then all the originals of documents paper clipped together, then copies. I'd organize it the way they ask on the interview notice and just make sure you know where things are so you can produce them quickly upon request. We have an accordion file, a small (24 photos) album with various photos, and our wedding guestbook/polaroid album. We'll see if that's enough!

cellarlily - all the best (and by that I mean I wish you limited butterflies and pleasant immigration people) to you and your sleeping hubby tomorrow. I'm sure you'll breeze through it. Sorry I can't offer better advice on what you have prepared as I didn't have an interview except to say these two little things:

1. I'm sure you have more than enough and as for your joint things - the bills that you each have show service to the same address, so that's great.

2. K.I.S.S. - I would have two packages with me if I were in your shoes tomorrow - one with only what they asked for and another with all the supplemental stuff that we all accumulate and find very hard to pare down. That way, if you get a matter of fact interviewer, you don't overwhelm him/her and you have less to sort through yourself.

Other than that - sleep well, eat well and try not to look at the clock too much. This is it - it's almost over :-).
