Hi March Filers.

I havent posted but we are here in the same boat of waiting on name checks.

I found out we are in name checks by asking my congressmans office to follow up on my case and they told me the FBI is doing the name check. So no movement or touches for over 2 months now... My husband really wants to go to Nicaragua for Christmas and we are starting to worry about not getting the green card in time. Does any one think that it would be worth it to not take the risk and pay the $300 for the travel document?

I'd say if you don't hear anything in a month, you should think about applying for advance parole if he really wants to go. If you filed in early to mid-September, he'd have his document by mid-December. My husband is in the same boat, so I feel your pain. :(

Hi, good news!!! I received the email that a welcome notice was sent .... I am still trying to believe it!! It seems it was just as the IO said on the interview - they needed an extra few weeks to complete the background check. I think since I was a student here they wanted to check if I were in status all the time I was in school.

But still WOW I really did not expected to have it go through so quickly! I was worried I was going to be big time stuck in name check just for the sake of it.
